what do you do when your 6month old only wants to stand?????

My 6month old hates being on his belly I have gave him tummy time since day one and he is a belly sleeper. But everytime I go to put him on his tummy to play and try to get him to crawl he cries is it ok for him to be standing by him self at 6months????? PLEASE HELP

if he can stand let him. put him in a jumper he'll probably love that. some babies do things at different times. my 1st skipped crawling (because his head was to heavy for him to lift) and started walking at 1 yr. my 2nd just started walking at 14 months. my daughter is 4 months and she loves to stand and has been rolling over for over a month. it's fine. just make sure he can't hurt himself and he'll be good :)

My son started standing when he was 4 months old. I asked our ped. just because im paranoid, but she said it was fine.

Yes...it's perfectly fine for him to be standing by himself at 6 months as long as he's supervised. Some babies skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking and that's fine. If you're trying to get him to crawl and he doesn't like being on his tummy, try sitting him upright on his bottom. He may crawl to the table to stand up, but if he doesn't, that's okay. If you're very concerned about it, talk to the nurse at your pediatrician's office.
