(shonna) and she has a long name its shonna kay-marie. but with my son we wanted a name from the bible so we named him joseph allen.

My husband says that when naming a boy, always pick a name that will sound good as a MAN too :) My friend's little girl is Kayleigh Marie spelled just like that too...

If Connor is something you really can't stand then you can always suggest it as a middle name.

I actually like both names, but for a boy if your looking for something irish my son's name is Logan and I know thats irish. And for a girl something similiar to the name you like is Kyleigh which is also irish. I hope I helped, good luck!

I agree on how common Kayleigh is. Maybe you could find a longer name you like that Kayleigh (or Kaylee, or whichever) could be the nickname for, so she feels more unique.
That nymbler.com website would be a good place to find something that's similar to Conor if you're not too keen on it (although I think it's adorable!)

I like the name kayleigh, its so sweet. and i havent heard it before. and conner. i love that name too, but i have noticed that it is becoming more and more common. so do you want an individua name or you dont mind if there are a bunch of other kids that have the same one? eithr way, go with wat makes u and ur partner happy. good Luck!

I don't know my name Jenni (Jennifer) is very common for an 80's baby... In fact I've had a close friend named Jenni in almost every school and grade I've gone too (we moved a lot when I was young). But I still felt special and like an individual.

I just never answer when I hear someone yells Jenni/Jennifer though cuz it might not be me, lol.

Mmmm, Kayleigh is a very, very common name. I work in a Pediatric Office, and seriously on any given day there can be up to 5 Kayleighs, Kaylee, Kalee, or whichever you like in the office. It is a beautiful name, it just seems to keep popping up every where. My name of course is Jessica, and there were 10 Jessica's in my graduating class, I have always held that against my mom....lol....not really, I just always wished I had a more unique name.

There's lots of cute Irish names out there. Maybe try to find one that will make both of you happy. Or if he's Irish Catholic like a lot of my family you could always go with some saint's names haha.

Or just pray really hard for a girl.... seriously though my husband and I picked a couple names we each liked or had special meaning for us and went with what sounded the best combined.

congrats and good luck on naming your baby.

I love both names but I love the name conor!!! My husband and I were thinking of baby names and that was one I picked out but of course he didnt like it! :o)

Both names are very nice and would make great choices! My only concern would be how popular Kayleigh is, including about a hundred variations on the spelling (it can be a hassle always having to spell out your name...). Have you tried using some of the baby name websites out there for suggestions? This is a pretty good one:

We named our son Connor, so, of course, I like that name! I also like the name Kayleigh Marie! Have you thought of any middle names for Conor?
