I was using the nuva ring for years! But honestly, I've been pregnant on it twice.. I am pregnant with twins right now & I was on the nuva ring! I dont know why I gave it another chance, I figured maybe the first time I got pregnant on it, I used it improperly, but the more research I've done, the more answers I got that I'm not alone on this. You definately need a back-up form with the nuva ring, as with any birth control! Hope that helps!

i used it and loved it, im a nurse at an ob/gyn and we hardly ever have any complaints, but of course it still holds any risk/side affects like any other birthcontrol. Definately ask your md as to which birthcontrol is right for you.

I was on Nuvaring for a few weeks in between having my old IUC taken out and the new one replaced. I could tell from day one that it wasn't for me... I had a hard time putting it in, and the hormones in it (which were different than what I had been on) made me CRAZY! i have a bunch of friends who use it and love it.... sadly, I wasn't one of them :(

I can not have birth control with Estrogen because i have a blood clotting disorder, I'm on an IUD (Mirena) and LOVE IT!!!!!!!! and lasts 5 years and you dont have to worry about a thing! Although i've had it for almost 3 and i'm thinking about a 2nd child, so may get it removed! It's very recommended!

I have been on the nuva ring for years now. I love it. I cant feel it and neither does my fiance. I never had it fall out on me. I have never had any problems with the nuva ring. I also dont know of anyone that has gotten pregnant off of it. But really its up to u. Every women is different and every birth control is different. My periods are on a schdule. My periods have been lighter since I have been on the nuva ring. Also keep in mind u have to use it the right way. Good luck.

I LOVE the nuvaring. i have not had any problems with it ever. I started using it after my daughter and never got pregnant. Once my husband and I decided to try for number 2 it did not take too long. It has shortened my period by 3-4 days depending on the month lol. Its simple easy and convenient. I do have a friend who had a problem with it coming out during intercourse and such but I believe she wasnt using it properly. Hope this helps.

I was on the Nuva Ring and I stopped taking it because we were going to start trying to have another baby, but my period never came back, here the nuva ring shrank my uturas so bad there weren't sure if I was ever going to be able to have kids again, but they fixed the problem and I am able to have kids but it was really scary so I don't like the nuva ring. But then again all birth control doesn't react good with my body.

I was on it for about 6 months after having my son, never had problems with it, but did get an allergic reaction to it. Started itching and my dr. Prescribed the pill instead. No problems.

I had problems with it fitting right, it kept coming out and was really uncomfortable, and THEN I read the package insert that said if you have problems with depression to NOT use it, after I had been having severe problems with my depression (usually it doesn't affect me that badly). I was really disappointed my dr prescribed it knowing about my depression issues and not saying a word, and by the ring in general. I prefer depo for BC=)

I know it does. But there are what they call first, second, third and fourth generation hormones. The third and fourth generation ones are the ones that significantly raise your risks. You would have had to have read the article. Trust me. THey're not all the same. Women are literally dropping dead from the Nuva Ring and their families are filing a class action suit. The first and second generation hormones are considered to be MUCH safer. Please read up on the risks. And not just on the NuvaRing website.

Nichole- all birth control with estrogen raises the risk of blood clots.

Sherry-It lessened, but I had really massive periods to begin with. It never stopped--I always had my period during my one week off of the ring.

There was just a huge article last mont in either Marie Claire or Glamour(I subscribe to both so I don't remember) and it was warning people not to use it. There are way too many people having aneurysms right now and there are a lot of lawsuits going on against the company. They said it was because of the newer type of hormone used in it. It raises the risk of blood clots quite a bit without adding any added benefits. Do some real research on it before you make your decision. Some people are ok of course. But I personally would never chance it. I just go with the tried and true pills that have been tested for years. I would rather take that tiny little pill every single day than risk my life.

so it looks like the people who didnt use it the way your supposed to cause they're doctor gave them the "ok" to do so dont like it so much.. but i totally love it! 3 weeks in 1 week out.. my period is pretty much normal but it went from beinf 4-5 days (without birth control) to about 2-3 days.. the first day being uber heavy.. but no pregnancy with it! its just awesome.

I HATED it!! I tried it after having my son and almost every time I had to go to the bathroom, it'd be coming out so I'd have to push it back in there. Def not the most pleasant thing ever!!

I've been on the Nuvaring for 9 years and have only gotten pregnant once--when I purposely went off of it to get pregnant! I love it!

I have something to say about the nuva ring. It works for some. I was on it for about 6 months, I soon started not having periods after about the third or fourth month. I was using it just as it said "3 weeks in and 1 week out" my doctor said that it was perfectly ok to have it out during intercourse, but not to have it out for more than 3 hours. I asked her about the nonexisting periods and she said that everyone is affected differently to it. Well about 6 months later, I became pregnant. I'm now on the depo shot.:)

I used it for awhile. My doctor told me that I could put a new one in each week and skip "the off week" which is when you are supposed to have your period and this would allow me to skip menstruation all together. Well....not exactly! I ended up having a period for 6 WEEKS STRAIGHT. I finally got frustrated and quit the Nuva ring. I would imagine if you followed the regular guidelines of changing it each week for 3 weeks and then taking a week off that this would not be an issue. I have not heard of people getting pregnant. I believe the success rate is just as high as the pill. It is also comfortable and does not cause any problems during intercourse.

I'm already on it but since the beginning my period has gotten lighter and lighter and now I haven't gotten them in 2 months. So its getting kinda freaky.

http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.a... This is the nuvaring website, it should answer any other questions you have. I've never personally heard of anyone getting pregnant on it, but of course it is possible for a woman to get pregnant on any type of birth control. Using the product strictly as directed significantly reduces that risk. I was on it for a little while and if I ever need birth control again, nuvaring is what I'd use.
