i had mine done the day after i gave birth. i was awake for the entire procedure, completly numb and unable to move. the incision was through my belly button and i have very minimal scaring. after a few hours i was up and moving around with no problems at all. i had to have this arranged ahead of time with my doctor and the hospital. best birth control ever, i am happy with my choice. and very sure i was done having children.

From what i've been told your Dr. will bring you back to have the tubal 4 weeks after you have the baby. In my case I had to have one immediately after having my second baby due to medical reason. I had an epidural so it wasn't hard for them to take me back there an hr. after I had the baby. So maybe it just depends on the circumstances and your Dr.

usually the next morning, as long as you are NPO. But ALWAYS ask your doctor

I think perhaps that this is a question best left to your doctor. However, if you look around on websites like WebMD you may also find the appropriate correct answer. Best of luck to you hunny!
