She is 13 months in two days and just recently started throwing fits over everything and over nothing. She throws her self on the ground and throws things. Any advice on what to do?

The terrible twos never happen at two. My niece is 13 months and throws fits like you would not believe. If you have something she wants first she tries to grab it and since we don't give in the yelling starts. Like I mean grabbing your face and growling at you or yelling and punching at you. Its bad. I just walk away and let her yell. If she fallows I ignore her. The only time i will get involved with it is if she is hurting herself or trying to hurt my son. He has many bruises from her. She is now starting to throw herself on the floor and having a tantrum. Some doctors actually think it can be triggered by what they see. And seeing my niece I kinda agree. They have been watching Flashpoint, CSI, Stargate, and many other police shows, Violent movies too. My sister in law is also very physical with my brother and will hit him over the head when she gets mad. When I watch my niece have a fit, i can see the movies being played out. They watched the Other Guys with her when it came out and that is when the grabbing of the face and growling started. In the movie they get really close to the face and yell at each other. Plus when my niece does something wrong my sister in law hits her hand and says no. Now when we say no to her she hits our hand. She will also hit our hands if she doesn't want us to pick up a toy. Its her way of saying no to us. They learn by what they see. My son wasn't allowed to watch stuff with violence and I have to say all he did was yell when he got mad no hitting and if he did hit he knew to hug me.

Thanks for the input! I have noticed that she throws the most fits when she is tired so I lay her down for a nap and when she wakes up she is much happier. =]

It just a phase my daughter who 2 next month used to have them alot now she just has them when she tired so we put her bed for an hour and the difference in her when she wakes up is amazing so cheerful and happy all children go through phases at some point in there lifes

Temper Tantrum Phase, usually starts around that age. Honestly, she's still learning new things. Most parents let them have it out, but w/my kids I usually distracted them w/their favorite toys, snacks or tv shows.
