What time do you put your baby to bed?

I'm a new mom and still learning....I just had a baby 6 weeks ago. I'm wondering two questions: when were you able to start instituting a regular bedtime? And, what time do you put your baby to bed? I've read everything from 7pm until 11pm. I feel like every night is a struggle to get my baby in bed, but once he's in there, he will stay asleep from 4-6 hours. I'd like to get to a regular schedule.

At two months old we started putting Jace in his own room at 9:00pm. He has slept through the night ever since (usually doesn't wake up until 9:00am). He is probably the exception but what worked for us was just doing something calming from around 8:30-9. I also am lucky enough to have a video monitor. The first night he was in his crib he woke up around 3, he didn't really cry just kind of moved around and moaned and grunted for about 15 minutes and he fell back asleep. Don't rush in to pick them up as soon as they make a sound in the middle of the night. It really does help them get used to putting themselves back to sleep once they are comfortable again!

My daughter is almost 2 months old and she goes to bed around 10pm. She seems to be a night owl, and I am as well, so for now I am just trying to work around her natural rhythm. Trying to get her to sleep when she isn't tired just doesn't work. All it seems to do is get both of us frustrated and upset. With the schedule we have right now, she goes to sleep around 10 pm and then will typically wake up for a feeding and a change sometime between 4 and 6 am, once that is taken care of she will usually sleep for another 2-3 hours before really waking up for the morning. Best advice I can give though is just find the schedule that works for the two of you. If that means going to bed at 7 pm fine, and if that means bedtime is 11 pm, that's fine too.

When I was trying to get a regular bed time for my kids i set it with my schedule. You want to put them to bed about an hour or two before you go to bed so you have time to unwind and share your day with you significant always put mine to bed around 8. Mine are now 4 and 6 and still go to bed at 8. It gives me my time and they get planty of rest!!

well...at that age you really just go with the flow.

it really isnt until they get into a normal routine that they have a bedtime.

for my daughter it was at 2 months old,she started sleeping in her crib,id put her down around 9-930pm and shed sleep till about 5am(id feed her and change her) then shed go right back to sleep till around 9am.

but until that point i was a zombie lol my husband and i were up AT LEAST 3 times a night. then the day she turned 2 months old,it was like magic lol. we thought,"lets try her crib." and since then shes been a great sleeper!

i know a lot of moms, who are very strict on bed time and feeding times, and that works for them.

good luck!
