I have a 4month old son and am a young mom with no friends with babies in town and I don't know what to do with my son for his first Halloween. Have any suggestions? What did you do?

Our son was 2 weeks old his first Halloween and we got him a cute puppy outfit and carried him around to neighbors that we knew, kinda like showing him off. :) That was about it though and we got to eat the candy!

We live in Kentucky. I got my 5 month old a baby bunny costume and we are taking him to the Zoo for their annual "Zoo Boo" Party. I am from Atlanta, so I guess maybe I am spoiled, but in my opinion Halloween sucks here in KY. Whole neighborhoods are bare--no one decorates their houses, one or two people on a random street may be giving out candy--MAYBE, the haunted houses/corn mazes are a joke....IDK, it must be cause Im from the land of Nightmare Haunted House and Tom Sevini's Crypt of Terror.....Check with your local wildlife preserve or Zoo, they usually have little-kid friendly Halloween stuff going on. For example--the Chattahoochie Nature Center in ATL has their annual Halloween Hike where volunteers dress up like foxes, skunks, deer, etc and take kids on hayrides and introduce them to owls and beavers and totally non-scary animals.....Another idea: I dressed my baby in his cutest little Halloween footie pajamas and took him to a pumpkin patch with his brothers and sister and let him sit and gum on pumpkins and gourds while we took pictures. If anything it was definitely a great photo op!

I order my 7 month old little girl a costume and got her pictures taken. When Halloween comes we are just going to have a party for all the little children in our family so I will dress her up so she can attend.

I dressed my son up and took him to the homes of some family friends and also to my work (his uncle worked there too and wanted to see his nephew/godson in his outfit). we went to grandmas, his daycare and a few close friends. after I think about 6 stops he was tired and we went home. and mommy and daddy ate his candy. he was 3.5 months old at the time. we are pretty much going to do the same thing this year.

My son will be 11 months this halloween and I don't plan on doing much. My dad bought him a cute pumkin outfit just to take nice photos really, and since we have no older children trick or treating is pointless. Generally halloween isn't a big thing here in the UK compared to in the US.

I made a meatball hoagie costume when my son was 3 months. It kept him warm when we visited neighbors. We don't have family around us either or friends with babies so we celebrated together and handed out candy to the neighborhood kids.

my son is only 2 months old, but we are going out wiht his older cousin, my nephew who is 2 years old, my nephew is dressing up as a monkey and my son will be a banana lol, i don't plan on actually trick or treating tho... i think you should and your son should dress up, take lots of pictures and wait for all the lil costumed cuties to come by.. its not as exciting as trick or treating but its a way to make it a memory for you!!

if you didnt get a costume already my daughter was a pumpkin and it kept her warm and everyone loved it...perhaps try to visit family or friends that do have kids and make little loot bags for the kids you will be visiting personally think its kinda weird to go trick or treating since he wont be eating the candy...or maybe go on a hayride if thats safe for 4 mth old....hmm not sure but good luck

This is my son's first Halloween and I plan on dressing him up and taking him trick-or-treating to a few houses. The main thing I plan on doing is taking him to the community events around town. You may check your area cause there may be some kid friendly events in your area during the week before halloween that are safer and warmer to take your baby to.

I have a 23 month old daughter & a 4month old son. My husband & I are taking them trick or treating. My daughter's going to be a fairy but since my son is really too little & will be in his stroller, he's just wearing Halloween PJ's that say 'My 1st Halloween' Last year, for my daughter's 1st Halloween, she & I were sick. So we all just stayed in, ordered pizza, had a scary movie marathon & ate some candy. It ended up being a blast!

I dressed my little girl and just took her around to some family to visit. I actually brought candy with me to give out to them because she couldn't eat candy yet at that time and I sure didn't need it cause I just had a baby lol.

My youngest is 4 months old as well, which at this age they love to look around at all the different things (or at least my son does), so we are walking around the neighborhood to go trick or treating w/his big sister. I'm dressing both of them up, she is going to be a princess, and my mom has actually bought my son's first halloween costume so I have no clue what he is going to be as it is a secret. You will get some candy and baby will get to see everyone and their costumes.

My youngest will be a little over three and a half months for halloween this year. We're dressing him up, and taking him with us to go trick or treat with his older siblings ( 2 year old b/g twins). We dressed the three of them up as a theme this year. We're taking them to their grandparents house and a friends house, and then heading home after a little trick or treating.

My daughter was 7 months old last year for her first Halloween. We had friends here that have older kids so what we did was they came over to our place since we live in a rather large neighborhood. We dressed my daughter up and we both dressed up as well (me and hubby). Our friends and their kids were all dressed up and we went out and trick or treated. We pushed my daughter in the stroller while the older kids ToT. It was lots of fun and I got some much needed excercise :)

My son will be 5 months old for Halloween. I'm dressing him up and we're going to go around the block to trick or treat then come home and pass out candy. We are military and there are events the day before and after on the base we are going to attend.
