What to do when baby daddy has stopped seeing our son...for the second time?

Father of my almost two year old son has once again cut him out of his life. He never wanted him in the first place but I guess in his own way tried to see if he could love him. He would visit here and there and when I needed help financially he stopped seeing our son for about seven months. Now he is court ordered to pay child support. He came back into his life a year ago & would occasionally visit him for about thirty minutes. And now that I have asked him to visit our son at daycare or I could meet him at a park somewhere he has made no effort to see him. All because I am not comfortable with him in my home. My son is too young to understand and he doesn't really have a bond with him. But why does it anger me that it is so easy for his dad to just stay away after holding him and telling him he loves him? There is no way he loves him right? I don't know what to do anymore. Advice please!

Hi Liz, I can relate to what you are going through and honestly the one that is missing out on his child and will be sorry for doing so in the long road is him. You have tried long enough and your son will be better off with not having a relationship with his dad at all than having a dad only when it's convenient for him. The same thing has been happening to me with my 6 year old son and his dad, but my fiancé and I are now taking him to court to take his paternity rights away and so my fiancé can adopt my son. It hasn't been easy and it probably won't be for you either but the best advice I can give you from my own experience is to move on and kick him out of your life completely. just keeping your son in mind, he can become a great man without his so called "dad" and I am sure you can find a great man who will be a great role model for your son and will love him as his own. I wish you the best.
