I had 2 boys both vaginally so I am not sure about the whole c-section differences besides what me and my friend who had 3 have talked about. I got mine done the day after my last delivery. I was very sore and seeing as how he did it through my bellybutton so that there would not be a big scar. he said a lot of women were opting for this. I do know that I can tell you per discussions with my friend that our periods are way heavier and longer than before. And the cramping is almost like I am having contractions. One of my other girlfriends has this umbrella shaped(is what she described it as) device inserted. She says it lasts about 10 yrs I believe. I could find out the name for you if you want. But anyway she doesnt get her period or cramping and is not worried about getting pregnant. I believe she is about 39. And since I have my tubes tied alreay I didnt get into too much detail with her. But if I would have known of that before I would have looked into that.

Quoting Jamie:

It depends. Are you just having the surgery. Or are you having a baby too. I just had my son 6 weeks ago and I got my tubes tied during my c section. I had a lot of discomfort from my tubes(you can tell the difference between the pain) but I don't know how the emotional part would be because I just had a baby and I was already emotional from that. But I tell you if you don't want anymore kids this is the best decision I have ever made.

My husband and I threw out the idea of having one more and tying my tubes during my c-section, my previous two kids were c-sections. But after about 2 years we have decided we dont want to have another one. With both my kids I had very bad post-partum and dont want to go through that or put my family through it again. So if we want more will start doing foster care and possibly adopt.
