prepare my first child, and maybe go on a relaxing vaccation. but i would definately prepare my first before anything because i couldn't cope with a screaming toddler and a cranky infant at one time.....i'd totally lose my noodle

What i did was get my son as independant as possible. I taught him to help with making his bed, getting dressed, fetching things for me. I also stopped giving him as much attention as what he was getting. When you have a second child, the first starts to feel left out because of the sudden change of attention turned to the newborn. I also prepped him by talking to him about babies, if you know babys name talk about baby as if baby was already there. When my daughter came, she is now 6 months, my son was ready and i didnt have any problems. He just wants to help with everything. He also likes the fact that now he is the big boy and she is the baby.

Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight! lol Also spend some quality family time now while it's just the three of us, before my time would have to be divided even more. Also, my husband and I were married only three months before our little one came, so it would be nice to enjoy the time we have now that our baby is sleeping through the night and calm most of the day. :)

Try and take a vacation that wouldn't be fun with/for an infant but would work for your child's age now. Disneyland, Grand Canyon, beach...

Try to have a little time to ourselves before it gets all taken up with BOTH handfuls and contained with the little ones. !!!
