I didnt want to put my girl into a big girl bed. I think i held off till she was about 2 (6 moths ago) and she went straight into a single sized bed, and for security we put her cot matress beside her bed so that if she fell out it would be a soft landing. I think it is whenever your ready and whenever your boy is ready. I aslo found by saying to my bub that she was going to be a "big girl ina big girls bed" she was excited about it. so good luck.

Well I have been holding off on my son...He's 2 1/2! LoL He has never tried to climb out and seems perfectly content in there. Unfortunately, I know the day will be here soon we he starts trying to climb out and I have to put him in a big bed. He is very capable but that's the ONLY thing in the house he hasn't climbed! He is so busy that I haven't even tried yet. His sister, on the other hand, moved to a twin bed when he was born to let him have the crib. She was 18months at the time and she did just fine. I don't think there is any perfect time. It's just when you feel he's ready!

Whenever u think he is ready for one! My son Tyler was getting to big for his crib and kept hittin his head on the bars so i decided to take a chance and put him in a regular bed! I didnt do the toddler bed because that is just like a crib without bars. He is in a full size bed and loves it! If u r afraid that he might fall out just put pillows or a thick blanket on the ground or they do make like rails to put under the mattress so they wont fall over the edge! But its up to you to take the big boy leap! haha! Good Luck! O and Tyler was 1 1/2 years old when i strarted to put him in a regular bed! Good Luck!
