Why does my daughter feel like she needs to pee in every box she sees?

Every time she's in her room playing she will literally take all the toys out of a toy box or this little toy car that has a seat with a small compartment and then she pees in it! It's driving me crazy! And the toilet is only a few feet away from her room. She's potty trained, she tells me everyday when she wakes up that she needs to use the potty. But lately she's been off on this kick about peeing in her toy box's. Please someone HELP!!!

Put her in overalls so she has to ask you for help when she goes. Leatards and swim suits might also work and you could put them under her clothes if it's too cold.

This is pretty funny. Iv'e never heard of this before.

I have to admit that made me cackle. I'd make her clean it up. And not just a "la la la, look I'm washing a box! How fun!" but a "get in there, scrub it 'til it shines and don't you ever do it again" washing. When it's no longer any fun she may find that it's not worth the trouble.

Yeah I thought about that too. Actually the last time she did it I did end up telling her that the next time she does it I'm going to take ALL her toys away. As of right now I've taken all the small box's out of her room, but there's a toy chest in there that she has yet to empty and pee in...hopefully she won't but I wouldn't put it past her. I wonder if she IS wanting our attention, but at the same time I've only ever found out that she's done it when I've gone in there and seen it for myself, she doesn't tell me she's done it so I don't really know if she is in her own way begging for attention.
Thanks for the help though :)

my daughter went through a phase of insisting on peeing in her pull up instead of the potty. she would laugh everytime she did it too!!! but one day she did and she ended up going all over the floor (must have had a really full bladder) and my husband had had enough and punished her by putting her in time out. i know that's not the right thing to do but she never did it again!!! after that she went on the potty. of course she had a few accidents here and there but she stopped deliberatly doing it. i really don't know what to tell you cause you really shouldn't punish them for it, cause at least she's not holding it. my daughter also went through a phase of holding her poop for weeks so finally i gave her some grape juice that had extra fiber in it and she had no choice but to go. now she's completely potty trained.

just be patient and she will get it eventually.

maybe you can try explaining to her that she will ruin the toys if she pees in them and maybe take that toy away? then after she has no toys left she will stop? i really don't know. i wish you luck though.

i'm not sure what to tell you, it might be a faze, or she might just be craving attention...IDK i have yet to go through this yet my daughter is only 5 1/2 months.

good luck in finding something that will work for you...hope it happens soon, it would irritate me also

Well I've already done the reward thing when I first started potty training her. She's been potty trained for about five months or so now...I'm not so sure that rewards will work now.

try giving her a reward for using the potty, like stickers or something
