i am 24 years old and i have a 4 year old son. i am starting to feel really broody now and me and my boyfriend are thinking about starting to try for a baby together.

i currently live with my parents since splitting up with my baby's dad years ago.

i will be moving in with my new boyfriend in july.

we are both ready to have a baby, he is a great guy and gets along great with my son. we share the same ideas and values in life and i trust him fully. I have voiced to my family my desire of becoming a mom again the response i got was really upset: all i got was a frown and look of disgust and "what?!?!? you want more children???concentrate on your career!!!"

i am working part time as a scretary in a college and i have no particular career goals or aspitations, i would just love a happy house full of children.....

what's wrong with that??

and what should i do about my family?

many thanks xxxx

Really it's your life and you are an adult so your family really has no say in it.

I would make sure you are in a very loving and lasting relationship before having another child though. You say you are going to move in together in July so why not wait? You don't truly know someone until you have lived with them so I would say give it at least a year until you start trying. You're only 24, you have plenty of time.

I had my first 2 with my first husband and that didn't work out. I have now married the most wonderful man and am so glad that I had another child with him even though I was in my mid 30's by then.

I'm not saying to concentrate on your career like your family, I'm saying make sure you have made the right choice this time. Do you really want 2 children to 2 different fathers that you are no longer with?
