I had an ectopic pregnancy at the age of 24. My left fallopian tube was removed and I was told that the damage due to the hemorrhage was so extensive that I would never conceive again. I did not go on birth control, that is the one difference; however, I was able to conceive many times since then. I have had eight children-six of them since the tubal. I hope this encourages you. As a general rule, the tubes take turns from month to month releasing an egg-the left one month and the right the next. It is possible that you have only ovulated once on that left side since you stopped birth control, so be patient. Give yourself time and your body time to begin to function normally since you are no longer taking the birth control. I have heard of it taking a year or more for the body to "recover" from the hormonal effects of the pill.
