Hi there! Maybe you can try to stand behind him and hold his hands on the cup with yours and take it up to his mouth a couple times a day and see if that works. Practice makes perfect LOL!

I think that with this situation, as with a lot of other milestones, there needs to be a certain amount of desire to do it. For instance, my son is 21 months and isn't saying as much as some other kids his age....but he understands a lot and has some other very effective ways to communicate with me. I'm not stressed though because I know he will start talking more when he wants to. Encouraging kids to do things or try something and then waiting for them to accomplish it is about all you can do most of the time; I wouldn't worry about it if that is the only thing you're concerned about right now.

My son did the same thing. He will get it when He's ready, there is no special trick. Just keep trying and eventually it will just happen.

Hey there!! My twins did the same thing!! I tried and tried so many types and was getting frustrated in how to teach them. But one day they just got it! It was like it all of a sudden POPPED they were about 8 months when they got that down , then the rest followed, drinking out of it , holding own bottles etc. So maybe be patient, he will surprise you one day and never stop!
