Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday today, I am curious about the fun Dr. Seuss-related activities you all have planned. In my daycare, we are focusing our theme for the rest of the week on Dr. Seuss. Today we had green eggs and ham for lunch, we will be watching the new movie, "Horton Hears a Who" and then making our own version of Horton's Whoville Clover. Wednesday is "Silly Sock Day" when the kids are supposed to wear some silly or mismatched socks and we will be reading "The Foot Book" and "I Wish That I Had Duck Feet". I also have a couple of games planned, a rhyming one, and a hat toss one, where the kids make a Cat in the Hat hat to play with. So, what is everyone else doing to celebrate?

The curriculum I use has some great activities already planned for me, but one I came up with is reading "Scrambled Eggs Super!" and letting/helping the kids make their own special scrambled eggs.  You can read the "Lorax" and help them to plant something.  There are just so many great books!  "Ten Apples Up on Top" is a good one.  Have the children try to balance just one apple and then eat them for snack.  We're also making a hat and love to eat green eggs and ham.

I'd love to hear what others are planning as well.
