Does anyone else have a man who is new on the road and spending WAYYYY too much money on his own food?? When he finally has his own assigned truck this month, I am going to stock it up with groceries, but the still he's so lazy about putting food together, even simple things. Can you more experienced trucker moms just throw out some good money saving ideas for food??

Snack cakes, loaf of bread, sandwich meat, cheese, tomatoes in a bowl already cut up for him, potted meat, Vienna sausages, pop top canned food, plastic cutlery, plastic plates, milk, cereal, plastic bowls, make sure his truck has a little refrigerator in it before you get the refrigerated items, if not get one it'll help. :) depending on the husband, and how long they will be gone for, you may be able to send leftover type food, food you prepare that is good again later, there are truck stops that have micorwaves they can hear their food up that way or get a car to home converter and a small microwave in the truck, but you've got to think about room in the truck too some have room some don't. Also it's a good idea to get the driver some movies and a small DVD player TV so they can watch movies when waiting for a load or if they are stuck somewhere and are out of driving hours... :)
