I save quite a bit by just simply using cloth diapers instead of disposable. We do still use the disposable when out and about, but at home and at the babysitter's we use cloth. Its side benefit is better skin for the babe!

I received so many disposable diapers as gifts at the beginning and with all the change and stress I just kept using them. I’ve always keep meaning to change to cloth and never did. My boys are 12 and 32 months old now. My oldest uses the potty, but not on his own. Only if I ask him to. He is in pull-ups/sometimes diapers. My 1year old is just starting to walk on his own, but hardly. He’s a real crawler. I’m debating if I change so late in the game will it just be a huge hassle, or a huge money saver. Does anyone have an opinion, and what brand do you recommend, do you use disposables at night?

Keep them on with Snappi cloth diaper fastener or diaper pins! Snappi's work great but sometimes it's hard to get the same fit as with the pins. I prefer Snappi's for my prefolds but pins for my flats! And I love wool covers (soakers/longies/shorties)

I used cloth diapers since my son was 6 months old and I've also been doing elimination communication (using cues to catch his pees and poos in a potty). Saves $$$. And my next baby will get to use the same diapers. I also like the benefit on the gentleness on his skin.

We try to take the baby to poo poo and pee pee when at home, so we only use 4 diapers a day! Besides, we use the water to wash his pat pat after poo poo, of course better skin for the baby!

I bought the cloth diapers, with the intention of actually using them, but have only used them on occasion as a diaper. More often than not, I use them as burp cloths, or to clean up while on the go. Once you don't need them any longer, they make wonderful dust cloths, and cleaning cloths. My mom used them on us, and also used them as nursing pads. They also work good as an accident catcher for the car seats!
