Join your local food store's customer club. They often send coupons specific to your buying habits to you in the mail. The Sunday newspaper also has a ton of coupons.

I highly recommend joining TheGroceryGame.com. You enter your town, state and food store and they literally track all the sales and coupons for you. Each week they show you what the best deals are (these items are free or nearly free) and where to find the coupons and you can shop accordingly. I typically saved about $100 PER WEEK using this site. I was able to stockpile things like toothpaste, shampoo, cleaners, dry foods, canned foods, etc.

It gives you the option to click on the items you want to buy, and then it compiles them into a shopping list which you just print out. It couldn't be easier!

Good luck!!!

Never a stupid question! The stupid part is that fact that so many people don't use them. I never really used them until this past Spring and now I'm in love with finding deals. I use the website from the Krazy Coupon Lady. You don't have to be as extreme as them but it got me started and in the right direction. Being organized is the key. Their website shows you how to setup a binder to be organized, how to use your coupons, where to print coupons and more. I really like the part that says "freebies". I get toothpaste and other general stuff for free or next to nothing. My favorite couponing trip for me was at Rite Aid, I bought Playtex sippy cups for less than 75 cents each!
Check out their website, it great at teaching. I also had bought their book and it helpped me a lot, then I passed it on to my sister so she could do it too.
Hope this helps!

Hi Katelyn,

This is not a dumb question at all! This is a perfectly logical question if you've never used them. I am a coupon lover myself and in fact I have a website that offers free downloadable and printable coupons. Check it out...http://www.freebiefindingmom.com/.

Oh, and did you know you can actually use coupon clipping services to get coupons? Yep, here's a post I made about the topic. http://www.freebiefindingmom.com/save-bi...

Hope this helps! Good luck and Happy Couponing!

Kelli

Check out http://frugalferret.com ---- we have several ways for you to find printable coupons for the items you need.

Coupons are around you --- you just need to be more aware: tear pads at gas stations, in the grocery stores, etc. You can also obtain them from clipping services.

Also, you need to learn how to shop sale cycles, price match and then use the coupons for additional savings.

I also do online classes for new couponers to learn how to make it easy so you are not spending hours unnecessarily each week.

I wish I could save more money as well, unfortunately we only have 1 grocery chain in the city I live and Walmart and Target, as well as a couple small neighborhood stores and a Sam's Club. We only have WalGreens No CVS or Costco, although I think one may be coming. I just dont feel we get as good as deals as people in other states. I live in SD. I have 4 kids, 3 are boys and they can eat!

Yes, going shopping with online coupons will save you some if you can use them in a smart way.
Here are several ways that you can find coupon codes:
1, From local resources. You can collect coupons and discount codes from Newspapers, magazines, Flyers and something else.
2, Subscribe "Coupon Alerts" from some coupon sites or cashback sites. Once you order theirs coupon alerts, you will get an email about those coupons you may be interested from them.
3, Search coupon codes and discount codes from the internet. For example, if you need a coupon of Target, you can search "Target coupons" or "Target coupon codes" on your computer.
4, Turn to your friends who are good at coupon-clipping.
Some coupon sites I often visit are http://www.fatwallet.com, http://www.retailmenot.com/, http://www.couponsnapshot.com/, http://www.promocodes2012.org/....

Check the local grocery stores for double or triple coupon days. I lived in PA and one of the grocery stores had triple coupon thursdays. I live in MA now and the grocery store I shop at has double coupons every day. Some stores allow you to stack their in store coupons and the manufacturer for the same item. Use the store card (ie shaws, Acme, Giant) that alone saved me over 25.00 off the total today.

I buy store brand food, purchase all my toiletries, cleaning items, hair accessories at the dollar store. Some websites www.coupons.com , www.couponmountain.com. www.target.com

Also, Some resteraunts have kids eat free days and Kids eat free on their birthdays. Or they offer 1.99 meals on certain days.( Friendlys, Denny's, Chick Fil A...(some have family fiendly nights).
Target has deals with diapers buy 2 and get a 10 dollar gift card.

Shopping with coupons & deals will save you a lot if you know how to take full use of them. There are lots of coupon sites and you can search them online. AND local newspapers and magazines also offer coupons. If you want to shop online, here are several coupon sites you may be interested: http://www.retailmenot.com/, Krazy Coupon Lady, http://www.couponsnapshot.com, or promocodes2012.org.
If you do spend a lot of money every month, I think you should make a shopping list before shopping and follow it strictly.

I too am tired of spending so much money for groceries. I started couponing over 6 months ago. The coupon game has changed, since the premire of Extreme Couponing. I usually get my coupons from the Sunday paper and I also subscribe to a magazine that only be found at Walmart. It is called all you. I also get coupons from other magazines, like Better Homes and Garden, Good Housekeeping, Family Circle and Women's Day. I also pick up magazines from the library. They sell current and back issues to get rid of the overflow. I don't print alot of compons, but I get alerts from stores concerning sales and recieve emails with coupon offers all the time.
