i know it sounds silly but when you do the first change of the day leave the nappy off and put pants / boxers on and say but you are a big boy now and you don't need your nappy's only for bed time and leave him to it i am sure he calm down soon just hang on in there it will happen

I don't know, M&M's aren't working with my almost 3 year old. I have a food allergic child who I trained two years ago with toys as the bribe. I bought little $1 store prizes that he really wanted and set them on top of the toilet. When he used it, he got one. But nothing seems to be working with my 2 3/4 year old. I let him run around with his bottom half naked, and even though he won't pee on the carpet, he still won't use the toilet or potty chair, either. I'd love some advice for him!

I like Vickie's idea. Maybe you could use Cheerios. We got a potty that was a small version of a big toilet. This one made flushing sounds and played songs when you finished. It even had a pretend toilet paper roll. He would go pee just to hear what song was next. We got it at Walmart, cann't remember price but I am cheap so it wouldn't have been that much. Hope this helps.

Dawn,

I dont know if this will help since he is screaming, but what I did with my boys was turned it into a game. I got them a potty chair and I got a rubber duckie. I put enough water in the potty chair for the duckie to float. Then I had my boys try to hit the duckie when they were pottying. They thought it was the craziest thing but then after a bit that started trying to make the duckie move. It taught them great aim, lol!!
