My son projectile vomit after EVERY feeding. it got horrible. i ended up putting him on gentlease by enfamil and adding cereal to his bottle at 2 months.. solved the problem, he hasn't thrown up like that since.

If your son is old enough you might want to try giving him some cereal and see if he spits up after that also. I have my son on Enfamil AR due to his acid reflux. It is made with rice powder and is a little thicker. It seems to be helping some. Also, if he is spitting up mostly when laying flat on his back, you could try using a baby wedge. I have one and it does help my little one.

don't lay him down right after you feed him.. have him sit up in a boppy or some kind of chair.. his tummy may need to settle a little more.. and sitting up helps..

My son used to spit up all the time! After every single bottle. We came to find he had acid reflux. I just added some baby cereal to the formula to thicken it up a bit. Worked like a charm! As long as he had the thickened formula, he was fine. He's now 9 1/2 months old, and has grown out of it, for the most part. He does still spit up once in a while, but I think due more to the fact that he's a little piggy! =p

my son did that. we gave him soy based formula. plus he also had acid refulx so we the doc. gave him something for it. i would ask your doc. about it. theres a test that they can do to see if they have acid reflux. i found after that my son did just fine! hope that helps! good luck!

We had the exact same problem with my son after he was born (he's now 2)...tried every formula you could think of and ultimately found out he had acid reflux, hence the spitting up a lot - coupled with a lot of screaming and crying - always after he had a bottle. We finally settled on Enfamil's GentleEase and that worked WONDERS. By 4 months, he was no longer spitting up and that seemed to work best - have never had a problem since. He was able to get off formula completely at 1 and we've had not issues!

my new born has been doin this ive been told it cud be cos he is allergic to the milk. but it could also be due to the amount. like if its like projectile vomit or like thick lick cottage cheese almost the milk coud just be too rich for him and he myt need less fomula. one of the things taht caused it with my sun was the teets on the bottles i was usuin . it realesed to much milk at once and he was takin it back far to fast n just his tummy rejected it. now have slow realeasingh bottle. avent/advent bottles and tommy tippy ones. and give him frequest breaks like after every oz he drinks and burp him before he has more aand its reali helped xx

If he's just spitting the formula out then he's okay. My son had that problem (sometimes projectile spit-up) and the doctor told me that even though it looks like he's spitting a lot up, he's still getting some of it down so he is getting the nutrients.

is he just spitting up or is it actual vomit? If after spitting up he acts like he feels fine I wouldn't worry. Spit up can look like it's alot more than it actually is. Try burping him more thru the bottle. You could also use gas drops. I've used Little Tummy's and Infant's Mylicon. You could give it to him right before the bottle or just put it right in the bottle. It gets rid of air bubbles and might help him not to spit up so much.
