don't give up hope. Thirty eight years ago I was born with an omphalocele. I had at least seven major surgeries and was in and out of the hospital throughout my childhood. But it's been about 26 years since I was last there and while the doctor's told my mother that I probably would never be able to conceive and that I certainly wouldn't be able to carry to term I have had four children (twins, even!!). I just wanted to let you know that there is hope out there...some of us do survive and even thrive!

Tracey!!! Thank you for posting this!!! I have a 9 yr. old daughter who was a preemie & has had 14 surgeries. No belly button but she's not interested b/c she says "Only God creates the perfect ones." One of my many ?'s to the docs were will she ever conceive. Of course yes but she would probably be considered High Risk. Are your intestines all over the place? I know my daughters organs are not where they should be & that's why they say she may be High Risk.
