Do all of you work or go to school?

I was working up until a year ago. Then I began going to school as a full time student. I'm going for my BSN in nursing. Then I come home and am a full time mom :)

I'm trying to hurry up my schooling so I can finish before he starts kindergarten! Eventually I would like to go back and get my MSN to become a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics. If time permits, I would also like to get my BSW in social work, since alot of the classes I'm taking coincide with the social work major degree.

Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed, other times I feel like "I got this" "I can handle this." I go to the gym atleast 4 times a week, it's a great stress reliever!! I have a new found love for Pilates, I think it's amazing! I wish I had discovered it years ago! I would like to maybe one day run a 5k race.

I have learned to set a lot of goals for myself, with the knowledge that "I Can Do It!" I never used to be so confident and I used to feel as if I couldn't do anything. But I've come to realize that you can do anything if you really want it and if you set your mind to it.

Plus.. Mom's are like superhero's without the capes :)

Thank you Natalie! =-)
You have a very busy life as well! I haven't tried Yoga, just Pilates, but I've heard wonderful things about it! I love Pilates, so I imagine that I would love Yoga as well. It must be so exciting to be building your own studio at home!! You sound like you have a very creative personality - Very cool!

Hi ladies! Lisset- I really like your groups and conversations! I am a working mom of 3 adopted children. My kids are 15, 10 and 9! My 10 yr old is DD and the youngest is ADHD. We moved to a different state a year ago, so I basically took the year off to help the family settle into our new life. I am a certified yoga instructor, currently building a yoga studio out of my home. I am also a certified court interpreter and just started interpreting at Immigration Court here in Memphis. I've been a freelance court interpreter for 17 years! It's my life's calling. Yoga keeps me sane! I also design and make beaded jewelry (it's one of my artistic outlets). Anyway.... thanks for letting us share! =)

Wow! Pretty amazing lives that our lead. I think we've come along way from the traditional role of mother's. I think it definitely shows our daughters that they really can be "whatever" they want. Before it was only thought that a man could and should be whatever he wanted, with very limited expectations of women.

I hopefully will work out a mommy schedule once I begin working, I definitely think it's important to be actively involved in your child's life, but I don't think that it should be limited to just staying at home. I feel much more productive when I'm out and about and feel a sense of accomplishment by working. It's a different sense of accomplishment when it comes to my son. I do feel that he comes first, but with him it's like this unconditional love feeling. I feel that he will gain much more from me being an active participant in the world, and still be his full time mommy. But that is only my opinion, I know plenty of people think differently on the subject.

My life is very chaotic at the moment, but I think in a sense, it's that rush of adrenaline, that feeling of wanting to accomplish everything, that keeps me level-headed and focused on my family and goals. In the end, if you don't have family, what's it worth to have nice things :)

I work full-time in Human Resources. I took 4 months off when my DD was born then went back. It's definitely not easy to balance everything. It helps that my DH does all the cooking, and is very involved with our DD. My company is also very family-friendly. But between my child, my husband, my job, my home, my friends, myself...I need 3 of me! We try to trade foot massages at night while we catch up on our DVR'd TV shows, so we have some "us" time and try to relax.

Hey all. I am a full time working mom. I work for a local child care organization. I am an office manager/assistant director for our location inside the Federal Building here in Indianapolis. I really like this organization - mostly because I see the BIG difference between it as a non-profit and the last child care organization that I worked for. It was a BIG national company... I know that I'm a superhero without the cape, lol!! Life is so hectic with children. I worked full time a month before my oldest was born... that was almost three years ago. I returned to school (going for bachelors in Criminal Justice) and even now with an almost nine month old, I had to take the semester off and was totally upset with myself until my husband had to force me to quit my self-bashing soiree. So, I'm hoping to set another set of goals because I want my degree before we are blessed with our future third child (hopefully sometime in 2011). I'm going to try pilates and see how it does for me.... I work out here at home, and I find it to be sooo boring. If the motivation wasn't there (going to visit our best friends in Hawaii this summer) then I wouldn't do it!!
