Some people remember their dreams, some don't. I, myself, am very into dream analysis and what they mean. Is you subconscience speaking to you giving insight? There are differenet ways to look into dreams. They is the perspective of trying identify a situation in the dream and there is the perspective that you do not look so much into the situation but what more into what's around you. For instance, you're in a haunted house and you're trying to escape but on the way out you see a random red shoe on the floor that you don't pay any attention to. You could either try to figure out why you are in a hauted house or you could focus on that random red shoe. Does that red shoe have any significants? Or if you see numbers, that can be significant, too.

Do you think your dreams are mainly influenced by everyday life? Or are they telling something?

Do have have da ja vu? If so, do you think it's because you somehow live an alternate life in dream world? I know that sounds crazy but the way I see it, if you have a dream that you can remember vividly is it as if you almost had that experience? You remember the intense feeling or emotions during the dream, right? If it was scary, you typically remeber just how scared you were. Or if you were extremely happy or excited, you rememeber how really happy you were. You recall these experiences with such great detail.

Do you have reoccuring dreams? If so, do you think they mean anything?

What are your thoughts?

When I was younger, from the ages of about 6 to 14, I had the same dream every single night. (I thought it was a nightmare, scared the crap out of me.) I dreamt about an older woman, in a coffin, there were chairs lined up on either side of an aisle where everyone was walking down. A woman was carrying a little girl in a pink dress, she had long, long hair (the woman), and the little girl was clutching on to her. Everything else was black and white but the little girls dress. They were walking down the aisle toward the coffin. It's like I was watching from the back as the two were walking up to the coffin, then when they reached the coffin, I saw from their eyes as they looked at the woman, and then I would wake up sweating. When I was about 14 I told my mom about the dream/nightmare. She asked me to describe the woman, so I did. I found out that it was me in the dream, she was carrying me up to the coffin of my great grandmother who had passed away before she'd ever even met me. It was the same woman who had told my mom that she wanted a great granddaughter with red hair and blue eyes and a great grandson with blonde hair and green eyes.

I was born with pink hair (i'm not kidding, I wish I had a picture lol) and the normal blue eyes most caucasian babies have. Later my hair turned copper top red, now it's auburn, and my eyes are baby blue. My brother was born with the blonde/white hair, it later turned very blonde and he had green eyes. Just weird coincidence I suppose. Anyway, the dreams completely stopped after she told me who that was... I haven't had one since then.

I've also had very, very strange dreams (esp. during pregnancy, lol). If they have any significance, I'd be scared as hell to find out what. One night, about 3 weeks ago, I could have sworn that I woke up and saw a huge, the size of my bed huge, daddy long legs spider hovering over the corner of my bed, ready to pounce on me. I was so damn scared that I literally hid my face in my husband's back and was digging my fingers into his flesh. He woke up, freaked the hell out and asked me if I was okay because I was shaking. I pointed to the corner, he turned on the light, and there was nothing. I seriously think I was hallucinating the dream was that real to me. I've had weird dreams that have that feeling all through pregnancy. If those have significance, I'd be freaked to find out what. lol.

I used to have the sleep paralysis a lot. I'm just realizing how much of a bad sleeper I am! I also get sleep apnea when I'm really stressed. Getting those two paired together sucks!

I had sleep paralysis once when I was pregnant with my first son. It was in the morning and Iain had already left for work. I heard a male voice say my name in my ear and could feel him next to me but couldn't move it was really scary but Iain's had it a few times so I knew what it was. Seemingly feeling a presence at the same time is pretty common.

Yes Jocelyn I have dreams of a the same places different situation alot. I just used my old house as an example however there is anothor house that I visit in dream land often. I don't know what the outside of it looks like but I can give details of the inside. For some reason it isn't ever a pleasant place though (I rarely remember the good dreams).

Has anybody ever experience sleep paralysis? Where your mind is awake but your body isn't. I have it happen twice in my life and it was really freightening until I learned what was happening.

I've had dreams like that, too, Jocelyn, although I don't have them frequently. I might have one every couple of years or so. For the most part (unless I'm pregnant) I don't tend to remember my dreams unless my subconcious REALLY thinks I need to. I will use my dreams specifically to work through certain problems that I come across that I don't know how to get around or out of at times, too. It's only that one dream that I mentioned above that's been the same over and over again, though.

I almost always remember my dreams; I love it lol. I am also very into dream analysis and have many books on the subject. It also goes along with Paganism (ie, if you wanted to find out your spirit guide you would ask and it would show up in a dream) I love finding out what my dreams mean! I have dejavu quite often, and for me it seems (sometimes) to boarder on precognition. I also frequently have very lucid dreams; those are the best lol. I don't have recurring dreams in the traditional sense, but all of my dreams take place in the same locations over and over again. There is a big house, a forest/park/mountain, a mall, or a city. What the dream is about always changes, but (for instance) the big house always stays the same. I could draw out the floor plans to it. I don't know why the places stay the same, but it's kind of neat. I tend to lean towards the thinking that I've already been to these places (in a past life) or I WILL go to these places (in this life or a future life) (these places have obviously made an impact on me (during whatever life) and the details are filtering down to me in the now (I have a theory about time, and all of our lives being concurrent, so this theory makes perfect sense to me lol) I've never met anyone else that has dreams like that.

Thats exactly what I mean Carolee. When I have have vivid dreams I can remember the stron emotions as if I really experienced it and then it sticks with you all day. Kinda weird. I usually have bad dreams. I don't so much have a reoccuring dream, it's more like a reoccuring PLACE. I ALWAYS have dreams that I'm in the house that I grew up in and they are VERY strange. Some scary. But they tend to resignate in head all day after I have them.

In one specific room of my cousin's house, I will have this one extremely vivid dream. I will even have it multiple times in one night. When I wake up, I only remember the "feeling" of the dream, but with no real memories of what happened.

Oh wow great topic. I almost always remember my dreams. I have some really crazy ones. I will be hitting on some guy at a bar and we go to have sex. Suddenly in the middle of it I will remember that I am cheating on Justin. It becomes an awful night mare.

I have da ja vu. The other night I had a dream that my best friend was at her ex boyfriends house. She ran into him the next day. Other small stuff like that.

I have been having the same dream for year. I am going to a haunted house. I find it and break it. I befriend the ghost and they help me fly. I love my flying dreams.

The funny thing is that I will end up having nightmares for 3 or 4 nights in a row. I will call my brother and he will be having bad dreams too.

I rember my dreams quite often, I think it's just a way of our brain sorting out a lot of junk that happens during the day.
I have one reocurring dream where I'm trying to get away or find something and I keep going into different rooms and turn on the light and everytime it either doesn't work or goes on for a second then turns back off or is so dull that it doesn't actually illuminate anything except a tiny space around the bulb. It used to be scary dream but now I've had it so often I just think Oh this dream again and it doesn't bother me. I used to dream about driving quite often before I got my licence.
I think a lot of dreams have different meanings like a sex dream doesn't necasserily mean you want to have sex with that person, it usually means that you're feeling close to that person and it's manifested as sex in your dream.
I've got a great idea for a novel for a dream and another for a short story but haven't got round to writing them yet - usually daydreaming gives me my best ideas.

Wow! I barely remember my dreams! I hope there's no significant meaning to them then coz after I wake up I know I dreamt something but couldn't tell you what hehe. Sometimes I have one that stands out, but I usually don't bother to find the meaning of it. I think life is complicated enough without having to interpret my dreams as well.
