Would u choose the sex of your baby?

Lots of recent talks in Australia about allowing IVF patients to choose the sex of their baby. Personally i dont agree unless there is a medical/hereditary reason to have a certain sex. I had my second child through IVF and was just glad that my miracle baby was healthy, big believer in 'what is meant to be will be'. Interested in what everyone elses thoughts on the subject are??

I wouldn't. I just feel so grateful to have a child!! If I'm lucky enough to have a second child I would love a girl just to have one of each, but to be honest I truly would be stoked with two boys too!! Its such a hard harrowing thing to go through, I think adding to the stress of it by including gender selection would be too much. I just want children, boy or girl I am happy :)

I personally would not choose. We are pregnant with our 2nd as a result of IVF. We had a boy the first time and are having a girl this time. We are so excited. It really would not have mattered whether its a boy or girl.... As you say, a healthy baby is the true miracle.

I agree with you! My sons were conceived through IVF and I'd want the best embryo transferred rather than choosing the sex of it. I say this knowing that there is a chance our boys could have the same problem as their father that causes infertility. At our clinic the doctor chooses the embryos being transferred so I trust in him and will be happy with whichever sex we get!
