Hi everyone,

Welcome to the November 2007 Babies community, where we chat about our November 2007 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely November 2007 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

My name is Jennifer and my little man is Caleb and he was born November 10th '07. I also have a daughter Grace who is 10 going on 20 and two step kids - Peyton (boy) 11 and Gracie 10 (two months younger than my Grace). The three older ones have been together since they were 3 and 2 years old.

We have a full house every other weekend! Caleb runs the show though! :) He always wants to be with his "Bobo" and Sissys - despite it annyoying them that he is their little shaddow, they are really good about including him which makes Dad and I happy!

Caleb is too smart for his own good at times, and has a vocabulary that won't quit - guessing since their is such an age gap and he hangs out with his sibblings. He is hilarious and always making us laugh. Caleb also has a temper, and can blow a gasket quickly.... we are working on that. :) He's very brave, and willing to try different things except when it comes to sleeping in his own bed. Yes, his Father and I are 100% to blame for allowing him to sleep in our bed when he was scared and we've tried the "school of hard knocks" and let him scream, cry and carry on. He'll eventually fall asleep and then wake up hours later and sneak into his Sister's bed.

We have dealt with the issue of "there is a man in my closet and he scares me" and that started at age 2. Just a few months ago during the day, he let out a blood curdling scream and ran upstairs bawling and shaking. 15 minutes later when he finally calmed down, he said there was an "mostly invisible man" by the downstairs coat closet that told him to come here. While I don't believe in things like this - I was quite disturbed and had a chill and goosebumps! Our house is only 5 years old and we built it and are the only family to live in it. He hates his room and more so his closet. That's our issue with him - unrestful nights because we have to share a bed with him.

I am Theresa.

I have thre amazing children.

First, Audrey, will be 7 on Nov 6th, is a caring loving person, who worries about everything.

James, is my boy, he is 3 born March 23, 2006. He oves trucks trains, tools.

My third child is Claire, born Nov 26th 2007. Claire was born after a hard pregnancy of myself struggling to gain weight, put on 10 lbs throughout, and weighed in only 130 lbs when I started at 120lbs. I have moderate asthma, and controlling it was difficult during this pregnancy due to being taken off many of my medications. Claire was born with 2 hemangioma - (hope I spelt that correctly) birthmarks.

Which after much research, I have come to the conclusion may have been caused by my difficulty in breathing.

She is loving and quiet, very tempermental when she doesnt get her way, shy, and loves her mommy. She also loves to tackle her brother with hugs. They are very close!

Claire was born a healthy weight 7lbs14oz, but since then has had a rough time gaining weight. At 21+ mos, she is now 21 lbs.

She is not a talker, she says her basic words, but prefers to grunt (in up and down tones)and and point to get us to understand what she wants, then her signature squeek of "uh-huh" is given when we understand.

She understands more that I expect, as I will be talking to her older brother or sister, and she will gp complete the task before I have completed the instructions.

Hi,

I'm Tiffany, 33 yr old teacher, mother of 2 girls (4.5 yr - Nov 2007 & 1 yr - Sep 2011).

Really love my 2 little darlings, brightening up my days esp after a long tiring day at work.

I'm actually learning things from these little ones everyday... everyday is a new experience and I'm enjoying it...

Seriously, teaching other people's children is so much different from teaching your own children...

though both are enjoyable, I'll choose the later anytime, even if it means lessons in the middle of the night... *wink*

Hi! Im Linda I am married and have been for the past 3 years. Im the proud mom of Allison who was born on Nov.6th 2007. Allison is my world and she is a total girlie girl! She is well advanced for her age and can not wait to start school, me on the other hand I am NOT looking forward to it! Allison was in daycare from 6 weeks to 2 years of age and her childcare provider moved so I quit my job as a nurse and became a stay at home mom/ daycare provider. I also have twin step kids who are almost 10 they stay with us every other weekend, and our relationship is not nor has it ever been a good one, thus causing MANY fights between my husband and I! I have tried everything I no to fix the relationship but they are having no part of it and I assume its because their mom doesnt like me (MUTUAL FEELING) and she has told the kids they have have to like me, listen to , or even talk to me! The step kids arent a subject my husband and I can discuss, heated arguments always errupt!!! I would LOVE to have anothr little one running around!!!! I just got a teaching job at the school my daughter will be attending so Im very excited!!!

I am SO nervous about my kids starting school! Im worried that they wont get the right amount of attention, or the right kind. Worried that they'll be under stimulated or over stimulated. Worried that they'll run into bullies, or worse, become one! Worried that they'll run into bad kids and that they'll rub off on them. Worried that they'll grow away from me, worried that they'll become too preoccupied with socializing that they'll disregard school entirely. So worried about so many things, so I think the best thing we can do for them is to give them as solid a foundation, both morally and academically before they go off to school. Hopefully that foundation will be so engraved in them that they will know whats a good idea and whats not, how to handle people and be able to exercise self discipline. Alot of how well their going to do depends on our direct involvement and interest level.

Hi! Im Julie, a mother of two from Maine =] We have a 4 year old boy named Kooper and a 6 month old daughter named Amelia. At this point in life I could not be happier having two children at such different stages in life. One cant wait to go fishing and camping, the others first words are spilling out and I'm just in haven! Challenging? Extremely. Complaining? No. Id say the most challenging part about having a 4 year old is his stubbornness! Hes so adamant to do everything on his own, which I encourage, but at the same time he pushes his bounds and tests me nearly every opportunity he sees. For example, I told him yesterday that I loved his artwork and thought that his painting was extremely unique and creative...so he thought he'd take his creativity to the next level and finger paint the bathroom walls while he was in there supposedly washing his hands. He doesn't quite understand why thats not okay but painting on paper is. He thinks painting is painting! So, to try and find a compromise that he could understand without being discouraged, I took pictures of his 'art work' and then he helped me wash it off the walls. Like I said, Its tough, but fun =]

Every day is an adventure. Hoping for some more nice weather as she loves going to the park. She is a very picky eater though so that is a bit frustrating.

Oh and she's potty trained! We had trouble with it. She started great than backslid. I got her back on track with a piggy bank and monetary rewards.lol. She got 5 cents for going pee in the potty and 10 cents for going poo in it. If she made it through the whole week with no accidents we gave her a dollar! Worked like a charm.

Hi, I'm Maggie and I'm mom to Deirdre born Nov 2/07. She was a week late by the dr's calculations and right on time by mine. She is a spirited handful to say the least. She too is going through the stubborn, tantrum stage similar to a 16 yr olds attitude. We tend to have no tolerance for that behaviour and it ends her up in time out. She also loses something she wanted to do/see. She hates eating vegetables and won't sit still for more than a few minutes with flashcards. I mix it up by using educational videos and shows and then flashcards that play on the computer. It seems to work. She's quick as a whip. She can say her ABC's [but resists learning to read them], can count to 14 when she really tries, knows her colors and shapes. She can name things that you wouldn't think a 3 1/2 yr old would remember, has a large vocabulary. She surprised an ECE teacher with how advanced she was while we were visiting my mom. She loves to sing ,dance, tell stories and do crafts. Loves to run! I can barely catch her now, so heaven help me when she's bigger... I sneak veggies and fruits into her by giving her juices that are fruits plus veggies, I also cook and puree veggies and then add them into high fibre flax bran muffins. She loves them. Another way is to make a smoothie using high fat yogurt and juice/ berries. Very nutritious and kids love them.
I'm staying home with her right now, because the cost of childcare would take up most of what I would earn anyways, but I hope to be able to go back to work at least part time in the future when she starts school. I love to do crafts, make jewelry and research family trees. Is anyone else here from Toronto, Ontario, Canada?

Hi! Me and my daughter Ruby just moved out of the big city of Toronto to live closer to family. Grandparents are really special! I am separated from Ruby's dad, so I am having to do a lot on my own.
Ruby just learned a month ago how to use the potty and once she realized she could do it, she has been going every time! It is the best hurdle to get over so far! She still has a soother though, and I'm sure that is the same thing. I have to put my foot down and convince her she can do it.
I bought her a hamster last week and she really adores it.
We go through a lot of battles every day, but I wouldn't change a thing about her! She is a determined and strong minded little person :)

Hi everybody... My name is Arati and am a mom of a 3yrs old princess...Anushka. I'm a working mom and spen around 9 hours away from home everyday. My daughter is taken care of my Mom-in law and a baby sitter during my absence. Anushka started her school from the age of 2. She's very well-behaved but detests veggies & fruits. Off-late she has started having a couple of fruits and cucumber/carrots. I'm a little worried on this as I know that one needs to have a balanced diet with the correct nutrients. I'll be glad if anybody of you could post in your suggestions on how to increase her intake of fruits & veggies.
Anushka loves to play with her toys and her favourite past - time is to make different things with coloured clay. She understands the fact that my work demands me as well and is very cooperative in that matter. We spend a lot of quality time with each other in the evenings and on weekends. She's thorough with her rhymes and would soon be starting her Nursery classes. As every girl, she loves to dress up and is very conscious about her looks. In fact I'm using that resort to feed her fruits & veggies. I hope it just works..!

Hi, I'm Nancy, mom to Emily, 3 yrs, 4 four mos and Luke, 1 year. We're a busy bunch with ballet and swimming lessons, daycare, music class, soccer and mini weekend vacations. Emily is becoming a great little helper now that her little brother has joined her at daycare and I am ever so thankful for that because I'm back at work full time and was wondering how things would turn out. Emily was not so helpful before my return to work but I guess that's because she knew I was around and expected me to do things for her. Things changed quickly though and she has exceeded my expectations once again. Luke has adjusted to daycare as long as his sister is nearby and it makes me very happy that they seem to be developing a close relationship already...although I'm expecting the usual sibling rivalry at some point.

Well my little Davie is 3 now... and he had a hard time with speech until the last 6 months. He talks all the time now.. but I have a tough time understanding half the stuff he's trying to tell me. He's a big boy. Over 30lbs... He was 3'3" in November.. I haven't measured him since.. but I'm sure he's grown. He has a big 7 year old brother and a little 14 month old brother (That's nearly as big as he is!). So he's 'Stuck in the middle'. He's tough.. doesn't let bumps or scrapes get in his way. He's very shy, and takes some time warming up.. He's able to eat everything... but it's hard to get him to eat... anything.. unless it's a 'goodie'.. ah well. His big brother was the same way. Now he eats everything! Except Potatoes.. my kids have a problem with potatoes.. what's up with that.. I love them... !!!????

I'm Ashley, single mother of Caden, born Nov. 5. From the time he was born, he was off the charts for everything, both physically and developmentally. My issue now is potty training!! I've tried everything - treats, stickers, getting new matchbox cars, high fives...you name it. It seems like when he's with either set of grandparents he does way better than when he's with me or his dad. I guess I should clarify a little. He's pretty good about #1 and can tell us, although if he's playing he doesn't want to stop so there's some accidents. His real problem is #2. He holds it in. He's not constipated he just won't go, like he squeezes it in. And then when it gets too backed up, it's difficult to pass due to the size. So I usually end up having to give him a suppository at least once a week, which I hate to do. Any suggestions to encourage him to just go? Actually my mom has him this weekend so she's trying to just wear the big boy underwear all weekend. Only one accident reported so far so we'll see how that goes!!

Hi, my name is Kim mom of Quentin 2yrs almost 3 (11/2/07) and Liam 3mths (6/25/10). Quentin was born healthy and I had no problems while pregnant. He was growing and hitting all milestones some faster and slower than others.Talking (5-6 full words) cruising, pulling up, and eating on his own. But at 17 mths (4/13/09) Quentin started having seizures. The first few weeks when the seizures started was the scariest of my life, he was in Childrens (Dallas) in and out of ICU. Once he was home would just sleep almost 20-22 hrs a day. This went on till June 2009 (19mths). Was not till Aug 2009 that they found the right medications to keep him from sleeping all day. Although he was awake more his personality was gone. And was not till mid Sept 2009 that I saw my son smile for the 1st time in 5 1/2 mths. It has been a long and hard road but we just take one day at a time. We have much to be thankful for and a great support system. We are also very thankful to ECI for working with Quentin for the past 1yr 1/2, without them he would not be as far along as he is today. My son may not be able to talk, walk that great and do other thinks most kinds he age, but can express his emotions in was others cant. His neurologist say that most of his delays could be from the medications his is on, 2 seizure medications 3 times a day and a special diet. Yes a diet for a 3 yr old is the hardest thing to do. I would not trade my life for anything, and pray every day that Quentin will grow out of the seizures. Looking forward to his 3 birthday! Doing it up Superhero style.

I love entering my kiddies into these fun friendly contests - ii've made some great friends through them.

My little 2007 baby is a right royal pain in the butt at the moment (but i still love her loads) - she is going through the major tantrum stage (never had it with any of the others - so its been a bit of a shock to the system). She is very strong minded & stubburn - if she doesn't want to do something - then trust me she won't. Has anyone else been through this?

I'm Christina & I Am The Mom Of My Precious Son, Jeremy. He Will Be 3 On Nov. 14th. I Am Blessed To Be Able To Stay At Home With Him. My Fiance Is A Truck Driver For Penske/ACC. He Gets To Come Home Everyday & Has Weekends Off. Jeremy Has Developed Very Well & Amazes Us Daily. We Are Finished With Potty Training {YaY!} These Days I'm Preparing Him For Preschool Next Year. It's Hard To Believe He Was A Baby Just 3 Years Ago!!! :)
