I found a great recipe for peanut butter balls. It has peanut butter, honey, and powdered milk. I think it would be a great protein snack for my little guy who turned one on November 22. When did all of you introduce peanut butter and honey to your babies?

It would be when your child is 2! Don't give honey until the age of 2, the spores in it can harm your baby!

Peanut butter shouldn't be introduced until after 2 years old due to possible allergies. I would never put my baby's health at risk by doing something against what doctor's and professionals say. They aren't making things up; they have studies and what not.

Sahara has been having a small amount of huney on toast in the morning since she was 10months approx.
Peanut Butter, here in australia is not recomended for children under 2yrs as there is a higher chance of severe allergic reaction to it. So DD wont be getting that for a few more years. Remember an alergic reaction does not happen the first time they have it, it is usually the 2nd or 3rd time the the reaction occurs.

I haven't given any to Paige, my 13 month old. We were told that she would have to have homemade peanut butter if we decided to introduce it. She has a severe allergy already to corn and cow's millk products. Most manufactured peanut butter has a corn byproduct or two, so be careful if your child has any sensitivity to corn.

I gave Hailey alittle pb a few weeks ago and she loves it. But i also know what shes allergic to because shes had allergie test for her Milk and egg allergies, so I knew nuts would not be an issue. She love it on toast. I also gave her Honey when she turned one I don't give it to her alot but she has a bad cough and I gave her some to help calm it and it worked great. So i don't think alittle bit would hurt

I tried PB in yogurt with banana and my son loved it, but his body did not. He had a rash over his whole body that night. I was bummed. I LOVE PB!! I guess I'll wait until 2 and try again. Neither my husband or I are allergic to anything. I haven't tried honey unless it's been in one of my baked goods.

Doctors recommend to wait at least until the first year to introduce honey as long as is cooked.
And peanut butter a bit longer since the consistency is really difficult for a baby to digest!
But you know what they say "every kid is different" ...

My little guy actually got introduced on accident. He was about 7 months and with his Gram. At that point he was eating most of what we were anyways, but he had no problems. I didn't give it to him again until about 9 months, he refused to eat his jelly sandwich so I put a thin layer of peanut butter on it and he wolfed it down. He eats nuts, almonds and such in granola bars now and loves them. I keep him close, because even though I know he can chew them, I still worry. Honey has not been introduced yet though.

Wes has been having peanut butter since he was about 9 months old (I know, that's not what THEY recommend, but it worked for us), and he just started honey when he was a year old. We just put some peanut butter on toast when we started that, and have tried "honey flavoured" things so far, and he LOVES THEM!
