I have managed to get my 14 mo old daughter to drink her juice from a sippy cup no problem, although she doesn't quite understand that you have to tip the cup up. I tried to put her milk in it but she just gets disgusted with it! How do I get her to drink both juice and milk from a sippy sup so I can get rid of the bottles altogether??

I bought the nuby sippy cups with handles, they are super easy to drink from. Try puttin a little chocolate into her milk & reducing it to just plain milk.

My son loves to drink from sippy cups, but I still keep the bottle for naptime. Maybe I can't let go...I don't know. I don't have a problem letting them have the bottle at naptime/bedtime until they are 2. Thenm we choose a day and it is done! They will cry and make you feel bad, but you just have to stick with it! I almost caved in with our daughter, but we stuck it out and it was the best thing!

We had the very same problem too! I also tried two cups one for juice and one for milk...she figured that out pretty quick. So my doctor said to only offer her one cup, and make sure that she drinks a cup of milk before we offer anything else. Of course if she went a couple of hours without a drink we would give her water but that was it. After about 2.5 days she got thirsty and started drinking the milk. That was back in October...now things are great.

We had the same problem too. We use the take-and-toss cups and she loved to drink her water from it but had absolute meltdowns whenever we put her milk in it. We tried all kids of different cups for her milk - even ones with straws - and she was ok until it was naptime and she wanted her bottle. My mom keeps her during the week and we finally just picked a day and decided from that point on no more bottles. She turned 14 months on December 10th and she hasn't had a bottle since November 30th. That first week she made us keep opening the refrigerator so she could look for her bottle but it wasn't there and we gave her the cup with the milk in it. Believe me, if they get thirsty enough they'll drink the milk from the cup if there are no bottles around! You may just have to try a bunch of different cups until you find one that works for you and the baby. Good luck!

That is a good question. I need to know the answer to that as well. I bought two different types of sippy cups. I use one type for juice and one type for milk. My son will drink milk from his cup at night but first thing in the morning he refuses the cup. You could try at one feeding to give a cup if she will take it at one. But yeah I have no idea right now how to get him to take the cup in the morning. I keep trying in the morning to give him a cup first if he refuses I go to the bottle. I just keep offering and hope he will go to cup. I think I will have to wait till he is a little older and then have him throw out the bottles and then tell him when he wants a bottle that there are none and he will have to take a cup. Right now he is too young to understand so I am waiting to do that
