Ditto on the straw cups. We went from bottle, to straw cup, to traditional sippy cup. We use both the straw cups and the traditional sippys now. We figured she needs to know how to use both since both styles of adult cups are common. Now we can go to a restaurant and give her a straw cup half full with water.

try the ones with the straws. my little boy went straight from bottles to straw cups. a good way to get them to learn how to drink from a straw is to put the straw in some juice and put your finger on one end so the juice stays in the straw. then put the straw in his mouth and see if he'll suck it out and keep trying. my little one started drinking out of straw cups when he was 10 months!! it works!!

We started at 6 months with the sippy cup, but it did take some time, I would only give him the bottle when he needed it, but what I did was just put some juice/or water or milk in the cup when he was playing and just left it where he was playing. After he figured out he could blow bubbles with the soft tip tops, I got rid of them and went back to the hard tip. It took about a month, but I found just leaving it while he played worked. He would investigate and then go back to playing, eventually he tried it.

I was having the same problem with my son. I just bought some made by Munchkin with straws and he loves them so much is is obessed with them. I think every kid is different, and you just need to keep trying until you find on that works. We also took the bottle away during the day so he didn't have much of an option.

i used the nuby sippy cups with the soft top llike the nipples on a bottle. they sell them at walmart and they are a miracle. another thing to try is to put all the bottles away. if he can't see the bottle where they are normally kept he could be more willing to try something new cause the bottle is gone.

I also went from bottle to straw cup with both of m sons. As a transition, however, I used the Rubbermaid type that has the mouth piece that folds over to close the cap. I used these becase they have a softer side on them. I would squeeze the cup tp get the liquid to his mouth and then he would suck on it to keep it there. It worked wonders. They quickly moved on to the Playtex insulated straw cups...our cup of choice. I hope that this helps!! Good luck!

I have the same problem. I hope someone will help us! Im daughter will only drink milk also. She has no interest in juice and will drink some water, but not much. Daycare told me they are just going to give her sippy cups and she'll have to learn to use them or she'll be super thirsty. That is their take on things to just toss the bottle and make her get used to it. Yikes!

My daughter was like that; my son was for a little while as well. Try Nuby's; they are most like the bottle. My son gets nothing but milk in a bottle so if he wants juice he has to drink it out of a cup.

It doesn't hurt that my son is a monster and is greedy lol and that he has an older sister.

But try the Nuby. Just offer it to him everyday. Don't give him a choice. Leave it for him to get. Since most bottles are see through the Nubys will also help with that because you can see what is inside. Good luck

I have been going through the same thing with my 15 month old. She would rather drink juice from a juice box and milk from a bottle than to have anything to do with the sippy cup.

I bought about 8 different ones. We tried soft tips, hard tips, straw tips, etc. Finally I thought...hey Addi loves Sesame Street...I will see if I can find some sesame street cups!

Now we have the sesame street bottle/cups and she has love them. (I can't find them online) They look exactly like a bottle but have a sippy cup nipple.

What kind of bottle does he use?

They have a few bottle to cup transition kits that have a regular bottle nipple and then a sippy cup nipple by Advent...
