I was wondering what a normal day is like for you and your babies? On a routine? Same nap times, etc.?

Last night I got a seven hour stretch! I believe when my son sleeps good through the day he sleeps better through the night. The Swaddle Me wrap help him from jerking awake also.

Thank you ladies. Reading your rountines let me see that we are doing just fine.

Elliot wakes up about 5am to eat and then goes back to bed until 7 or 8. He is then up for 1.5-2 hours and naps for 45 minutes-1 hour. He repeats this until bed time between 5:30pm and 6:30. If he takes a long nap it is his first nap in the morning for about 1.5 hours. In between naps we play, read, go out of the house, or he sits in his bouncy chair. Once he is asleep he sleeps through the night until that 5am feeding.

For the most part we have a daily routine for our daughter, but in the beginning we waited for her cues as to what that routine would be.  She wakes at about 5am for a diaper change and bottle, back to sleep till about 9.  Diaper and a bottle.  Some swing time and/or some play with mommy time, then a nap at about one (we gauge her readiness to nap, I don't force her).  Wakes around two and we do tummy time or play time, a bottle around five and then again around nine which is bed time.  We do a bath everyother night before the last bottle, she loves baths and it really calms her down.

Addi doesn't always take very long naps, sometimes only ten minutes.  Don't blame yourself for our babies unwillingness to sleep for extended periods of time.

We just lost our routine due to a growth spurt, but we were on a 9pm bed time, with a feed at 4am up at 7am back to sleep at 9am up at 10am back to sleep at 11:30 am up at 1pm back to sleep at 4pm up at 5pm and then start again!

Now hes sleeping as much as possible, eating and then crying and sleeping again! I think he was awake for a total of 2 hours today where he wasn't screaming bloody blue murder! I hope we can get back to our routine soon!

Sounds like just now getting into a routine is common. Sometimes my little guy doesn't sleep very long for daytime naps, felt like it was my fault for not putting him down at the same time everyday.

Hi Drea

Our bubby has kind of worked out her own routine and we are happy to go along with it - essentially because it works for us.

Bubby will usually - wake up about 7am, feed, play then sleep for a couple of hours - she repeats this all day (though sleep time varies) until her final feed around 9pm - and she will sleep until the next morning.

We are lucky she is a self settler and can be transferred from wherever she is sleeping to her bassinett and when we trialed her cot she went to sleep there also.

N :o)

We just started sleeping in our crib so we are working on getting into some sort of routine. What is constant is once he wakes up (which is not always the same time), usually about 2 hours later he is ready for a nap again. he usually naps for about 45 -90 minutes and then we start all over again :)
