Well, my first week of bedrest in the hospital is almost done. I am already going crazy. I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and I have been admitted to the hospital and put on bed rest until my baby is born because I have a complete placenta previa. I miss my kids and husband at home very much!!! I cant help sometimes but to think... What did I do to deserve this??? But then again, as long as my baby is born healthy that is what really matters in the end . Pls I need some ideas to keep busy so that hopefully time will go by quick???

Kimberly - computer glitch on my part - just now got the link to your post, I apologize. Wondering how things are going and if you still have a few weeks left on bedrest of if they've taken you off? Most docs will generally let you get up at about 34-36 weeks. Have you beat the boredom? I look forward to hearing how you are doing and what you have been doing to pass the time. Remember, YOU did nothing to be "punished" for having a complicated pregnancy. I finally resolved that I needed to stop and smell the roses.....for 239 days! ; ) I did learn that PATIENCE is something I had very little of, before bedrest, AND that those dust bunnies are STILL gonna be there after I get up! Best wishes to you and please keep us posted!

Hi Kim! you probably are holding your new precious baby boy by now. Thank you for your reply. I now only have a little over 3 weeks to go, still in the hospital!!! It really sucks, I really dont like to depend on others for things and I miss being at home. Especially at this time of year, there is so many things to do like baking, christmas shopping, and just being with my family...

Hi Kimberly... I've been on bedrest for 7 weeks and counting now - however have been very lucky to spend that time at home. I have a little girl who is almost three and a husband and almost dreaded every doctor appointment for fear that I'd end up in the hospital - almost did twice, but luckily they let me go home. So sorry that you're away from your family. That was my greatest fear was being away from my family, it's going to be hard enough during delivery that my daughter won't be able to visit us, due to new visiting restrictions because of the H1N1 virus. So really had been dreading it if I had to spend extra time in the hospital. But we'll be at 36 weeks this next week and by then they said we'll be past all danger points.

I've often thought what did I do to deserve this as well, as it's extremely hard to just put your life on hold and let others take care of the things you normally would do, especially for my little girl. I usually have one "bad" day a week - where I'm just angry that I can't do what I'd like to do - such as get ready for the baby. But then I remember that at the end of this journey there is a great reward - my little boy that's coming! But it's still very hard.

I've been so thankful to have my laptop this entire time - I've played games, kept in touch with the outside world, started Christmas shopping, researched baby names.

Take care and eventually you'll get there. I used to think the month of October would never end, but it's almost done and we are that much closer to having a healthy baby boy in our arms.
