Why do you prefer body wash to bar soap?

Body wash!
So much nicer to use, lasts longer and the texture also feels so much nicer on your body than soap bars

I prefer body wash for several reasons. Most bar soaps seem to leave a residue on your skin. Body wash is so much easier and quicker to lather up. You don't have the mess that is left where you sit your bar of soap. You don't have to worry about someone else using your soap. Don't seem to have as much soap scum left in the tub after baths either

Hygiene factor. And it doesn't make me all sticky. I hate bars of soap I've never used them in my life! The soap scum is still there because my husband is a freak and likes bar soap.

Body wash for me and my family. I feel like you stay more fresh and it covers better.

I prefer the natural body washes....the ones that don't have formaldehyde in them. Not only does it last longer and you use less, they are safer for your family and saver for the environment :-)!

haha I got a funny story to add to this convo. I prefer body soap, so I can get the girliest smelling one I can find and my husband wont use it. Anyways the other day I go to get into the shower and I noticed my brand new bottle of body wash is half gone because my husband ended up liking the smell of sweet peas on him. men. lol

I prefer body wash over bar soap. Aside from the convenience that comes with using the body wash, I find the body wash a lot more gentle than bar soap, which has a drying effect on my skin. I like using Dove Deep Moisturizer. It has a fresh scent and it leaves my skin soft and smooth all day without using an added body moisturizer specially in the summer.

I use both actually bar soap to shave with (actually I don't mind sharing bar soap with my family) body wash (any brand I like that day I was shopping) after I am done shaving for a nice scent to my skin.

I also prefer body wash as to a bar of soap, but I also have to watch what I use because I am allergic to everything under the sun, I use Alveeno body wash and it is great; your skin is softer, no soap residue and it actually smells pretty good.

Without a doubt...BODY WASH! There is such an array of different formula's, scents, textures, ETC!

You never have to worry about picking up a gooey bar of yuck! And, in this case the advertising of Body Wash's holds true to it's claim(s): "A dab will do Ya!"

Therefore, not only are Body Wash's easier to use, there are much more economical for the sake of argument.

My favorite Body Wash's are also, without a doubt by "Philosophy!" You can indulge in just about anything your craving mind & tummy can think of! Yet, when you're done getting all showered, shampooed & shined...You never have to worry that You are going to smell like a "Cinnamon Bun" all day, nor will You be craving to indulge in the real thing!

One may think the price is a bit steep, especially in today's economic "hardness," (where's my mind going?; keep it clean...pardon the pun! lol!) but literally one little dab on a body sponge...like the size of a quarter & You'd be amazed how much the product emulsifies!

I honestly do not know of any women personally that still use bars of soap to get "clean" anymore. However, I do no more than, a handful of men that still do! Yet, once they get exposed to "the body wash"-vibe...they're the first one's to be sudsing up! I do think it's a total masculinity thing...ya know, real men use a bar of soap; body wash is for pussy's! Yet, we all know the saying about never dropping a bar of soap in the locker room, jail, etc!

Alright then, now that I've typed away about body wash -vs- bars of soap...I think I really need to: "find a hobby!" And, my name is NOT: "Jill Zarin!"

Have a wonderful weekend, all of you wonderful mother's out there! And, last but certainly not least..."KEEP IT CLEAN!!!;" "REAL CLEAN!!!"

Wow, I prefer body wash. I see alot of you do. I was wondering though, not too many said what body wash they use and why. I use Olay Quench. I just love it! My skin never dries out. Even when I tan and when I do tan, my tan lasts longer with the quench than w/bar soap. and yes, the bar soap leaves you feeling all stiff skinned and sticky. yuck! I hate that feeling. but I was wondering if I should try the Dove brand. I have never tried it but kep seeing the commercial about the cream oil. does the cream oil still suds up? I don't want a creamy body wash that doesn't have suds. I love my suds :) Olay quench lathers up very thick and foamy. I guess you would say 'luxurious suds''. LOL. what type do you like and why?

i prefer body wash because it last far longer and feels so much nicer. I find my skin feels dry if i use soap.

If you like a different scent one day, you can keep more than one "flavor" of body wash and use what goes with your perfume or body spray... I love Bath & Body's japanese cherry blossom, but also like summery coco butter and have a body wash to go with that too! Also you can SHARE your body wash!! lol

I find that with body wash you get less scum build up on the walls of the shower, however I prefer goats milk soap. It has cleared up all of my dry skin problems and both of my little girls eczema =)

I have really sensitive skin and body wash seems to rinse off quicker and better. As a mom of 2 I don't have time to spend trying to rinse soap off my body and I don't like how you feel sticky after a shower and it makes me itch all day long. lol

I prefer body wash for a few reasons, it is just way more sanitary when there sre more than one person in the household,,lets face it you wouldnt want to share a wash cloth with someone after they just used it..eeeww! Bar soap really dries out your skin no matter what kind you get the only kind i have found that does not is dove and we only use that for hand soap in the kids bathroom cuz they like to use up all the liquid soap and play with it for some odd reason..lol Bar soap tends to loose its sent after awhile just because it is not in a container or anyting llike that. Body wash goes a long way and you only need a tiny bit and put it on a sponge and lather it, it really is alot better for your skin and smells so good and there are way more scents :) :) :)

I use Dove bar soap myself. Kristin- good point about less packaging/waste with bar soap! I never thought about that before. I feel like I go through body wash too quickly and Dove is the only soap that doesn't give me a left-over residue feeling.

Body wash rinses off better than bar soap and doesn't leave soap build-up on the shower walls.

I prefer body wash because with 6 people having a shower/bath there is alot of mix up's with soap bars and when not in use just sit there exposed, with body wash there is no mix up of which one belongs to who and once your done you just close the lid. Plus you don't have to worry about dropping it and having to chase after it lol

Kristin - posted on 06/03/2010

Either, I like the dove stuff. Less packaging/waste with bars though.

Amanda - posted on 06/03/2010

I prefer body wash because it lasts longer. You put a tiny dab of it on a loofah, add water and there are suds everywhere!! :) Plus bar soap feels as though it sticks to the skin and doesn't clean very well.
