Community Guidelines - Edited July 16

Krista - posted on 07/15/2010 ( 6 moms have responded )

These are subject to revision, but for starters, here are the basics:

Our guidelines are simple and are meant to help maintain an atmosphere of generosity and respect, so that everyone can have a positive experience here. They can be boiled down to this: please always try to add value to this community rather than take it away. And keep "No T.H.U.M.P.S." in mind:

Threats (You may not publish or post direct, specific threats of violence or illegal acts against other members or outside individuals.)

Hate Speech (No slurs or stereotyping.)

Unlawful Use (You may not use Circle of Moms for unlawful purposes or specific promotion of illegal activities. If it's illegal where you live or in the state of California it's illegal here. So y'all can't be trying to arrange weed sales on here, ladies.)

Misrepresentation (You must be who you say you are. No false profiles or false children's profiles.)

Personal attacks (You may not abuse, slander, or vilify another member. A post is not considered a personal attack if it is critical of a separate person or group of people with whom you personally identify. The attack has to be on you, individually.)

Spam (You may not publish or post solicitations or advertisements except in designated areas. So advertising your business, or a work-from home solicitation is a big no-no.)

I realize that in a forum of this nature, debates will occasionally get heated, and it may be tempting to make a personal comment about a fellow group member. However, please try to restrain yourself to tackling the person's arguments and ideas, and not the person herself.

Cursing: in heated discussions, it's understandable that sometimes language will get a little salty. Swearing is tolerated. Epithets and insults are NOT. So, for example, it would be perfectly acceptable for Jenny to say to Laura, "For fuck's sake, Laura, you know perfectly well that borders are an artificial, man-made construct."

It would NOT be acceptable for her to say, "Laura, you ignorant fucktard, you know perfectly well that borders are an artificial, man-made construct. Now go eat shit and die!"

Remember, this is a DEBATE forum, not UFC. Keep it above the belt, present your arguments in a rational manner, and if provoked, do your best to keep your cool -- we are all adults here.

Tequilla makes me dance but it does taste something like battery acid. I like a nice bourbon on the rocks...

Okay, so we hooligans will behave. Dammit.

Tequilla smells and tastes like petrol to me. However Jamison's Irish Whiskey is my favorite! I can't drink anymore due to my medications but I have been known to drink an entire 750ml bottle in one night. And be bright and perky the next morning. My brother loves the whiskey as well - it's a family thing but I'm the only one who can drink it well and properly.

I have Irish blood in me so it must be that helping me.

Whiskey just makes me maudlin. Good tequila makes me want to dance on tables.

I'm sorry I must object. Tequilla is nasty. You should stick to something much better like Jameson's Irish Whiskey. ;-)

It was either that, or a bottle of tequila, because that's what I need sometimes after dealing with all you hooligans... ;)
