Potty chair or a small seat on the regular toilet?

Which is better; to get a potty chair, that i would have to clean out every time. Or, get a step stool and one of those kids size seats that fit onto the regular toilet? Thanks

We ended up getting both, but first we got the tiny potty. It was uncomfortable for our son since it was all plastic so we decided to get the potty insert for the toilet. He loves the insert so much better, its more comfortable and he feels like a big boy. We use his little potty as a steeping stool for when he brushes his teeth and washes his hands. I would recommend the insert over the tiny potty even though we went the other way. For starters the comfort issue and not just that but going from the tiny potty to the big potty is just an extra step if you ask me. If they get use to using the insert all you need to do is take it away and bam they're using the toilet ;D hope this helps.

We did the potty chair that turned into a step and seperate potty seat for the big potty for when they were ready to go to the big potty. It was under $20 at walmart. :0)

I bought a potty chair that had the seat in it ($17). She is too short to climb onto the potty by herself so I just hold her over it, she refuses to use the potty chair (probably cause we don't use it). It may be cheaper just to buy the child sized potty seat, since they can use it for awhile.

they were so cheap, we got both. When we were first teaching our first son to use the toilet, we used the potty chair. Now we have that in the car for emergencies (though he pees outside occasionally, boys, lol) and the small one on our toilet at home, and he can use a regular adult size toilet with some help from another person (his little bum.... hahahaha).
Check tag/yard sales. We got one for a buck.
