time to take pull ups away?

My 2Y 8M daughter shows all the signs of being ready to be potty trained. She (1) knows the feeling when peepee or poopy "is coming" (2) tells me immediately after she goes in her pull up and demands that I change her (3) can take her pants off and put them back on (and even takes her own pull up off and puts a clean one on!) She loves her big girl panties, but wants to wear them over her pull up. The few times I get her to wear just panties, she cries and yells that she wants her pull up. She seriously gets hysterical for a really long time until I give in and put her pull up back on. She knows how to do it, but chooses not to, it seems like she's doing it to spite me! Should I stand firm and say no more pull ups and just put her in big girl panties?

My daughter is 26 months. She is almost potty trained. I had the same problems with her and the pull ups mainly because she loves the new Disney Princess Tiana and they just started putting her on the pull ups LOL. Well since she has started using the potty regularly on her own and if she does soil her pull up she takes it off throws it away then puts on a new one I decided it is time for panties during the day. She was hesitant at first because she wanted to wear the princesses but I told her big girls were panties. I even had to show her I had on panties and she let me put them on her. It has just been this week during the day and she has not peed or pooped in her panties yet. So I think you should stick to your guns and get your daughter to wear panties at least during the day it will help with her getting her trained and save you money once she is. Good luck
