Having trouble sleeping....

Good morning ladies... I know I am not the only one having trouble sleeping... But I was wondering if anyone is having a problem with pain while sleeping... Last night was the worst nights sleep I have gotten so far... In fact yesterday was just as bad as last night... Not only did I have lots of aches and pains I also had some contractions... Then last night I had pain in my ribs, back and belly... It is becoming very hard to to move, sit, sleep, and generally get comfy no matter how hard I try... Also this morning when I got up my hips popped... I feel like I am falling apart and it sucks... Anyone else feel this way... To make things worse I am getting married this evening and last week I had to run to so many places it wasn't funny just to get ready for today... I am so glad to be getting married but it was a lot more work than I remember... But then the last time I didn't have to have divorce papers and such just to be able to get married... But anyways... If anyone has any suggestions for helping with the pain other than heat, showers, or tylenol I am open for anything... I have tried all of those and while they work for a while they are not helping for very long... Thanks ladies... TTYL... Joy

Wow Joy, I am sorry I've been away from Circle of Moms for a while. Congrats on your recent marriage!! Hope you have had a chance to get a good night sleep. I have had similar problems and I have found that if I simply take all the pillows off the bed and then replace them for myself i can sometimes get comfortable ... other than that, a nice warm shower sometimes does the trick.

I have had the hip popping since about halfway through this pregnancy. I've also had a ton of hip pain. Lately, I've started doing some stretches and they seem to be helping a lot. The one that helps the most is the Butterfly. It's where you sit and put the soles of your feet together and pull them towards your pelvis. Then you slowly pulse your legs until you can get your knees to lay as flat to the ground as possible. Hope that helps.
And congratulations on the wedding. Best Wishes!

I am having the same trouble Joy! I have been over the last couple of months, everytime I try to turn in bed, try to get out of bed it feels as if my pelvis is breaking in half! There is not much you can do to relieve the pain when switching positions (trust me I have tried EVERTHING) but a body pillow between your legs while you are sleeping seems to help to adjust bones enough to keep you comfortable until you have to move lol.

I've also tried the heat, tylenol, and hyrocodone. More than one doctor now has told me that the only thing that is going to completely relieve the pain is delivery! Hopefully you can get some sleep hon!

Think of you!

i find sometimes if i use a different pillow it can help to relieve some discomfort. must put a different bend in the spine or something... doesn't always work... i have really bad sciatica so am in constant agony in the hips and am currently taking codalgin forte which is paracetamol with strong codeine as both of these are safe during pregnancy. unfortunetly nothing relieves for the long term. i have other friends who have tried chiropractic and bowen therapy and this has helped them... i just don't have the energy to be bothered as i only have two weeks left before my scheduled c-section. its not unusual for hips to do this but be very careful with them. hope you find something that will help... p.s. i find that wearing shoes with a slight heel helps relieve my back as opposed to flat shoes or high heels :)
