I usually look through birthday expresses website and find a set I like and go from there. I don't order the whole set just bits and pieces and supplement from the dollar store so I can get the look without the price. This year Im using pinterest for other ideas...cake, decorations, food, ect but in the past I just did a google image search for ideas

Hey check out any online store such as MyBirthdaySupplies and see the themes they are offering. This is the best way to get an idea on the options that you can consider.

Pick a theme--whatever your kids are into--and start surfing the web. I always start with birthdaypartyideas.com and read through what others have done with same theme. Familyfun.com is my next stop. Then I just google my theme and check out all the ideas out there. My research always gleans me a wealth of ideas for a fantastic party!

I like blogs and Pinterest! And if your kiddos are a little bit bigger you can get lots of inspiration from them too! They really have some great ideas- some may need a little tweeking but they are pretty simple to run with!
Hope this helps!

I usually look on-line for new things to incorporate into my daughters birthday party. This year I found these cute new accessories called TagTailz that tie up girls shirts. That gave me the idea to throw a Tie Dye T-shirt party. The girls loved it! We made the T-shirts on our back deck, and while they were drying the girls went swimming. We had some pizza and then for the party favors I gave each girl a Peace Sign TagTailz to wear with the cool Tie Dye T-shirts they just made. Then the girls came up with the idea to all wear the shirts and TagTailz to school the next day. My 8 year old said it was one of the best birthday parties she ever had!

I did a Willy Wonka party for my daughter one year, I found all the wonka candy at the dollar stores and popped in the video....whenever somthing happend in the movie, such as when they ran thru the factory trying candy on walls I had them lick dots on a strip candy (everyone had thier own strip) and when the burping part came along they all had to drink some soda and everyone had to produce a real or faked burp before starting the movie again..it was a hit in the 8 yr old dept!!!

I choose whatever he is into as the theme. Last year it was trains, this year it's dinosaurs. I jot down what comes to mind when I think of the theme and then I search google images for inspiration/resources.

No not at all, I am a mom of 7 and just know when I find good service! Sorry If I offended you or came off that way, I have never been to this site, I usually am at cafe mom,
I get "Parents" magazine, and last month I was sent a special birthday insert. I have been looking on "Youtube" to get ideas for cakes/ cupcakes, its entertaining to see people's posts of their babies 1st bday cakes. With Linus' bday approaching in less than 2 months, I am desperate for fun ideas. There are lots of video clips of themed cupcake instructions. It's great to watch.

I ask my daughter what she wants as a theme and then use my own thinking cap and the internet to find ideas I can do and like for our budget, I also ask my Mom's group for ideas. We have 6 birthdays in 6 weeks so we try to work together so we don't duplicate a theme, crafts or games!

My husband and I usually come up with our own ideas! For my son's first birthday in three months we're doing a music theme, I"m going to make a cake in the shape of a piano, and have musical decorations and a drum pinata, my son loves playing on the piano and banging on the drum its so cute, so that's where I got the idea, and I use the internet too to find decorations in the shape I want them =)
