My daughter is 8 years old i feel i dont know her. There are some shocking things that i noticed about her behavior. She craves for attention. She doesnt allow her school teacher to speak with other children.Today i wnet to her dance class and what i saw was very disturbing. She would speak even when she is not spoken to and she would be very uncomfortable when her dance teacher paid attention to other girls. As a result she is not able to concentrate on any thing. Is it her insecurity or low self esteem? I am really worried about her.She is an extrovert, has a lot of friends; gets along well with her friends. How should i help her to be comfortable with her self.I want to calm her down.I want her to be herself and not wait or want for another person's approval for judging herself.

Talk to her about her behavior and explain that everyone needs the teachers attention and this does not mean that she is not good if the teacher isn't talking to her that usually means that you are doing it right not wrong. Also maybe some counseling might be in order to help her learn appropriate behavior in these situations.

Thanks, I spoke with my daughter and asked her exactly how she feels when her teacher or anybody close to her pays more attention to other kids. She admitted that she feels jealous, and she also admitted that she speaks out of turn, I ve been constantly speaking with her for this not that i am nagging her, but am telling her the consequences of her behavoir. Hope this works.
Please give me more tips on how to raise an emotionally mature 8 year oldchild, who is responsible.
