in regards to hats - i bought a hat made from swimsuit material and my daughter left it on, i think because she could hardly feel it and it never fell into her eyes

Hi, you might find this link useful http://adjix.com/gwcj It's the Environmental Working Group's 2009 Safe Sunscreen Guide. It will help you to choose a safe brand. Not all brands are investigated by EWG but there are quite a number that they do. Hope it helps. For more info on what chemicals to avoid in and around the home, you can join my FB group Mums Against Toxins @ www.groups.to/mumsagainsttoxins. Cheers, Mel

Hello again. I'm making my rounds on Facebook tonight so I thought I would chip in on this topic, too. :) About sunscreen, I used to use something else (Banana Boat, maybe) but switched to Shaklee's sunscreen this past summer and really liked it a lot. About hats, is he big enough to get off a hat with a chin strap? Elijah wasn't really into hats last year, but we strapped one on him that he couldn't get off and then he got used to it.

The inert ingredients in Coppertone for children contain parabens. Lavera Baby & Child Neutral Sun Spray SPF30 has none of the "nasties".
I bought my son a hat with his favourite cartoon character on it and he loved it. Wouldn't take it off, even wore it to bed a few nights last summer.

Yeah, I think clothing is probably best also. Good point! The thing is, Malachi hates wearing hats!! Any tricks to get him past that?

Our Dr told us that Coppertone for babies was safe. We never had a problem with it. I still tried to use clothing to cover them more than a sunscreen when possible.
