I read that some of you have joined the Obama Mamas. So i went on over and started reading some of their nonsense. It makes my scalp tingle to hear some of their BS!!! So of course i had to add my 2 cents because i love to make a liberal look stupid.

Im not sure it was wise to do this. Im just going to be addicted to arguing with those nut jobs and my kids are going to electrocute themselves or somthing.

Someone please explain to me how they can think they way they do??? I've never gotten it. Are they just uninformed? Stupid? Can anyone really AGREE with this crap??

No disrespect ladies but most of what I have read from the conservative moms is how angry, irrational and immature the Obama Mamas are. Comment after comment is about how much we name call and how nuts and stupid we all are. You think that's fine??!!

Although I don't agree with many of the comments made by some of the moms, to paint ALL liberal moms as mind-less, irrational, "stepford wife" types is totally bogus! What do you think, that we're robots programed to believe whatever we're programed to believe, only to "malfunction" when confronted with with an opposing view?

The only person I follow is Jesus and only HE will convict me of my thoughts and beliefs as he continues to reveal himself to me daily.  Having said that, most liberal moms, bring a treasure trove of life experience's to this forum that form what they believe. Do you have no empathy???...or is your sympathy limited to just unborn children?

How can you be so certain that what you believe is right? I for one, would never shove my beliefs down anyone's throat or demean them if they didn't agree with me. Seems like you approve of "bashing" as long as it's only towards liberals...that's hardly fair!

[deleted account]

hmmmmm...seems to be a lot of "liberal" bashing going on in this thread. Kind of hypocritical. Doesn't sound very warm, understanding and open-minded to me. I'll just leave it at that.

I heard someone say the other day that a liberal is someone who will fight until the death your right to agree with them. I think that is so perfect.

I have to agree with that....I haven't been on Obama Mamas but I am not interested in hearing one sided narrow minded disillusion views regarding conservatives. Being from New York, I feel quite the outcast including within my own family who are extremely liberal. I have family who are gay and voted Obama who doesn't believe gays should marry because it goes against his religious beliefs but is highly pro-choice. Hypocrisy in its highest form, the ones who vote him in he has no intention of helping. Yet they swear he will change it all like if he was the Messiah. There have been plenty of times I have had to bite my tongue and often I feel like I am an In the Closet Republican to avoid the name callings, angry responses I get from those who worship Obama.

What bothers me the most is when liberals use the race card and they say "Oh you didn't vote for him because he is black." I didn't vote for him because he didn't fit my bill as a President, his record in the Senate stinks and he is truly a nobody. What did people know about Obama before he ran for President...NOTHING, NADA, ZIP ZILCH. Most people didn't know who their Senators are in their State, their issues and voting records when they voted in this election! And that is sad...they only voted because the Democrats were successful in propaganda and using a very subliminal message in the word Change.

Yeah know what cracks me up is...... That they (liberals, and SOME minorities) bring up the race card all the time. I thought we were suppose to leave race card out of it, like they always say. THey are the ones that say race shouldn't even come up, well they're the ones that played on the race card. I don't give a damn if he was white, black, orange, pink, yellow, he still was not the right  man to do the job.  THe only reason so many voted for him was b/c he WAS black, b/c all they were worried about was making history regardless if he was best for the job. Most Americans didn't even know the issues or who was on what side, go to "howobamagotelected.com" it's says it all. And if we want to be politically correct then we would say he is milato ( unsure on spelling) he's not just black, he's white and black......lol. Yeah know, it doesn't bother me at all if someone voted for him b/c they actually knew where he stood on issues and they actually did their homework. But it pisses me off  when they know nothing other than just THINKING he's going to bring us "change".

It actually pisses me off when someone says they are not in to politics. To me thats saying I don't give a damn what is happening in this country. I am not saying someone needs to debate, but to be informed. I have never understood the way a liberal thinks, its just crazy nonsense. It is so disgraceful what this country is believing and how they are allowing a gov't to take control of EVERYTHING. Some are to stupid to even notice, and that is even sadder. I think this country is in for one big rude awakening, and don't get me wrong I love this country, and I think it's the best, but we got to wake this great nation up.

That annoys me too, i have a family member that spent so much time bashing Bush and then at the end said "oh well i dont vote so oh well" I personally think if you dont vote or make an effort to know whats going on you can't really complain when you don't like how things are.

Lindsay, I now have a clearer understanding of what is going on here. When I joined "circle of moms" I thought it was a forum where mothers met to share their ideas, opinions, and their beliefs (whether they are opposing or not). What I am realizing however, is that most of the mothers in these groups, just want to have conversations with people who only agree with them (for the most part).

I think it's great that there is a place where women from all different parts of the country can come together, let their hair down, not worry about being politically correct, and say what they feel. I think it's a very slippery slope however, when insults and inflammatory comments are written (on both sides). The line tends to get blurred and sometimes we forget to put back on our "I'm going to respect my fellow human being" hat.

You're right that there are some people who don't care about what other people think and certainly don't care if people disagree with them (it's obvious since only 16 people joined politically debating moms). I find that sad and disheartening!

How can we expect our politicians in washington to make peace with each other (and in the world), when mothers can't even have a decent conversation on facebook?

Lindsay I kind of have to agree with Theresa on this one.  How can you say you don't care what her beliefs are, and in the same paragraph ask her if she has ever asked for the conservative view on issues?  The point is that we all need to be willing to be open to others beliefs and opinions, be them in the Obama Mamas Forum, the Conservative Forum, or the Debate Forum.  I agree with Christa that this back and forth attacking is hurtful, not to mention non-condusive to actual debate.  I think we are all above name calling, we are all mature intelligent mothers and we should all try to remember that when we are talking about issues.

I already replied to her and explained it to her but when i said i didn't care about her beliefs i meant it as her beliefs don't bother me and it doesn't matter to me that she disagrees with me.  I have no problem with people in America disagreeing thats what makes this country so different from other countries.  We are able to disagree with each other and our govt and we live to tell about it.

I think it's kind of silly for you to even suggest thats all conservatives care about. Had you actually taken the time to ask us about our views and not just assume you know them you might get some insight on what other things we care about.
The two posts you have made make you seem like an angry bitter person. I won't judge you based on those two posts but i do think they make you seem like that. And what is your definition of demeaning because your first post could be considered just that.

It is quite obvious that you don't care what I believe! That's my point! And to suggest that I don't think conservative moms have life experiences is ridiculous! Obviously we are all people and women before we are conservative or democrat.  I was merely 'noticing" that the same "bashing" that the liberals were doing to the conservatives, was taking place here, and I found that hypocritical!

In addition, I HAVE joined several chats, including politically debating moms, to try and see the conservative point of view. Thank you sooo much Christa and Traci (amongst others) for all of your posts and responses. I have begun to see a lot of things differently because of some of the discussions that have taken place. I have a new found respect that I never had before because of these stand up ladies! I thought the agreement for mutual respect, permeated all the conversations and was just taken aback when I noticed it didn't.

Lindsay, I know you don't need my respect or even want it (and that's fine). Maybe I do come across angry and bitter (although I hope I don't). I know it can be hard to gauge people from little snippits of a conversation. That was never my intention.

Christa and Traci, I understand the "behind close doors" concept...I will keep that in mind when reading through the conversations and replying. Anyway, see you in "politically debating moms"!

It's not that I don't care about your beliefs i just don't care enough to try and change them.  It doesn't matter to me at all that there are people that disagree with me.  Everyone has their own reasons for their beliefs.  Sorry if that came across wrong.

I don't mind conservative/liberal bashing as long as it's done in fun if that makes sense.  People can make jokes about both sides but when it gets personal i think it's wrong.  My sister is an example of this, she judges people personally for their beliefs and while i may not like someone's beliefs im able to seperate that and be friendly to that person.

WOW, all of this saddens me. The conversations that have gone on in Obama mamas saddens me too. On one hand I think it's ok to talk about frustrations with the opposing sides "behind closed doors". And I consider these two groups behind closed doors, (I realize others can read them but we are talking amongst those who feel as we do), the same goes in the Obama Mamas group. I don't think it's right to ambush people and judge them by what they've said to others "behind closed doors". That is why I've started the Debating group, so there was an acceptable forum for these types of discussions. And frankly that group has been breaking some of these stereotypes that we always speak of.

This is the problem with our country. Both sides are so busy being "right" that no one even listens to the other side. It truly saddens me that only 16 people have joined the debating group. I think between the two groups there are 70K people and there are only 16 who are willing to talk to each other and hear why the other side feels the way they do. These constant attacks on each other that are going on in both groups are so sad. When we will all realize that for the most part we are all good people trying to make the best decisions for our families. While our beliefs are often formed out of different places, so we don't always agree on the best road to take we are not bad people. The abortion issue is a big one for me, I've seen that the liberal pro-choice women aren't all "baby killers" they do think it's wrong they just don't want to govt to be able to tell them what to do. They don’t agree with women using it for birth control or selection of children. While I don't agree with it at all, I can see where they come from. Only from that kind of talking and understanding will we be able to find common ground and maybe change some things in this country for the better. Isn't that what we all want a better place for our children to grow up in?

I know that when we talk about many of these subjects our emotions run high and sometimes things are said that weren’t meant or were said out of anger. I wish instead of people name calling or judging or running away, people would just take a breath and try to see where the other person’s thoughts are coming from. Once you can think like the opposition maybe then you can come up with a solution that both sides could agree on.

Anyway I know I’ve gone on a little tangent here, but all of this crap between the two groups needs to stop. That is why our country is so polarized right now and the “change” starts with each one of us. Not the president.

When I posted over on the OM group, I never called names and was just looking for some good conversation, who knows, maybe they would change my mind on something? But all I got was ridicule. I was called idiot, nuts, stupid, troll, dumb, misogynist, bigot, etc etc. Oh yeah, bitchy too. I agree, it sure doesn't help anyone when we start calling names and stuff. That is why I really try to come across as begnign as possible. I think we all tend to get so worked up because the things we talk about are so important and we all want to leave behind for our children the best country possible. We just disagree as to what that would be.

No disrespect here, Theresa! :)

What bothers me Lindsay, is that many,(liberals) I know I can't speak for them all but for the most part, they have so much sympathy and compassion for animals, and the poor,  illegals, etc. but most have very little or no compassion for the unburn babies being slaughtered daily. I don't understand that. it does not make sense to me. They say they can't understand us but I just don't understand this way of thinking. Children are our future, who knows that a brilliant doctor with the cure for cancer has not been aborted, a future great President. We can listen and be polite to others points of view, we just don't have to agree.

I agree and it's annoying when they claim to be so open minded but spend their time bashing religion and anyone that doesn't hold their same opinion.  I love America because people don't have to agree but i don't think that's something a lot of them understand.  If you don't follow blindly they label you as a racist, biggot, and etc.  It's just silly.

So true. So true. Some companies go through unemployment office (the one my husband works at anyway does) so their buts are covered. so the goverment makes it possible for them to get away with what they get away with. That makes me really mad, not to mention it is nuts.

I completely agree with you about the illegals, they are a drain on all our resources. I however have no sympathy for any of them (most of them, I guess I do for those who were in physical danger and fled here for there lives I do have sympathy for them.) But the rest, they need to follow the proper channels to become a citizen and they need to pay taxes like the rest of us. Billions of people from all over the world did it the right way, why can't they?

I agree with you totally, they need to become citizens and pay their fair share. I totally agree, I guess I just feel for them and I love children and have babysat for some illegal peoples children, They work with my husband, it baffles me how they can work herein America and not pay taxes, they have 20 different names over the years. Anyway The children are citizens by birth, I guess that's why I feel for them because Jesus died for them as well. They also would not be doing these things if the goverment did not condone them. However, I am not excusing thrm, I know it is wrong what they are doing, I guess sometimes I just put myself in their place, I would get out of Mexico as fast as I could also any way I could. Mexicans are whom i speak of, I have no symphathy fot illegal terrorists of any race. But if I did not know anyone in their place I guess I would not feel sorry for them either. Alot of them work here and send money back which infuriates me because they do nothing to help our country but at the same time they go years without seeing close relatives, just so they can send money to them so they can have a better life, then once again there are some that work here 20 years, save most of their money, and retire to Mexico and retire and go home to Mexico and live like kings. There are many different stories. I feel like the solution would be for the ones that want to stay, they should be made to go through the proper channels, pay their fair share, and so on. They should not get special treatment.

I have wondered the same thing too, about why they think that way. I don't understand how an American can sit back and let socialism take over our country. I was raised to work hard for what I have, and not to have to share it with someone unless I want to. This socialism crap is really getting on my nerves. Plus they are so against any kind of violence agaisnt terrorists or the people who actually deserve what they get because of their actions, instead they think it's ok to abort babies

I'm with you. I am so done with socialism. I am past annoyed. I want our country to be what it once was. I am 38 and believe it or not this past election was my first time voting, so i have had to play catch up , I was never, ever interested in politics at all and found it all completely boring, and felt all politicians were crooked. Then a friend told me you have no right to complain if you don't do your part, so I did even though I ended up on the losing end. I just can not believe how these people (liberals) belive. How do they sleep at night? It just doesn't make sense to me. The socialism, the baby killing, they love terrorists. They want to steal our money, tell us what to do and how to do it. I don't get it. Why are more people not OUTRAGED? We are supposed to tell the goverment what to do, not the other way around. They work for us. America needs to wake up and take our country BACK.

I'll tell you why more people aren't outraged, because the democrats are experts at making people think they will all be on the receiving end of the system, never the giving.  Any truthfully many are, those who don't pay any income taxes and receive government aide for a long periods of time are probably all democrats.  I would love to see the statistics on that!

Yes i would like to see those statistics too. When are these people going to wake up , put down the Kool-Aid and realize that they (all Liberals )created the mess we are in right now with their well fare, not to mention the illegal aliens, I believe that really contributed to our current healthcare situation. That is why we have to pay ten dollars for one aspirin, for all those who do not pay. I'm sick of it. I figured all this out for myself in a very short period of time, ( and trust me I'm no rocket scientist) when are they going to figure it out? When it's too late to revive our country. When they herd us up like Hitler did the Jews? Just what it is going to take? Enough is enough. That said I do have a heart and I know some illegals, I don't feel it's all their fault, I feel sorry for most of them( not the repeat criminals who do whatever they want and never get punished, I,ve seen that happen too), they are looking for a better life for themselves and their families, but the goverment has to stop giving them our hard earned money, We need much, much smaller goverment. This is still America, the greatest country on Earth. We need to take it back, to make it what it once was.

You should join the political debating moms group. It's a mixture of both. It's small group right now but hopefully it will grow.

Thanks Lindsay!  I'm hoping it will grow and I'm hoping some liberal women will come over too, because you can't debate when we all agree. :-)  I actually think if we can all talk civilly in one group we may find we have more in common with each other then we think.

The only rule I made for myself is to not start any threads since its not my turf, you know? It doesn't feel right to me. Can't wait to see what they write to you tomorrow! I'm sure I'll be laughing!!! Good luck! :)

eh...its just facebook!  its not like they are paying to be in that group and I'm wasting their time and money.  If they dont want to read it, they dont have to.

Yeah, I guess you're right.  It's not like you are knocking on their front door or anything.  You seem way more outgoing than I am, like you're not afraid of a fight!  Fiesty!  lol.  Good luck...I can't wait to see how your conversation goes!

I say that all the time, how can they honestly think like that. I don't understand them at all.

Yeah, I "trespassed" over there too. Maybe it was wrong, I don't know. Just thought I'd defend us and then it kind of snowballed....

I started a new thread over there....this is what it said....

I love a good political debate. Without going into details, I am very educated and informed about politics and economics. Not everyone is. Not every cares to be. It doesn't make you a bad person. Just like I'm not all that interested in certain things. Some people arent all that interested in politics. Fine.

But I came over here to see some of your conversations and maybe join in some healthy debates, and im really appalled at the level some of you have stooped to when someone with opposing views tries to question your ideals. Isn't that what having opinions is about? To be able to express them and not be criticized for them?? Instead of sticking to the issues and the facts and stats, all I saw was name calling, insults, and immature snide remarks. Really? That is what is resorted to over here when someone doesn't agree? I can't believe some of the stuff i read. I would be really embarassed if I were some of you. Grow up. You are giving your "side" a really bad name.
