I am in the same place!!! I have nine pounds left and my son is 11 months old. I have done insanity, running, and weightlifting to lose the last 11 pounds but I am now stuck with my last nine pounds that just won't budge and I am still breastfeeding as well...ugh I want to fit in my clothes so bad but I figure to not be so harsh on myself and just do what I can, eventually they will fall off, I hope :)

I used to be a Personal Trainer before I had my daughters. Now I stay at home with them. DONT crash diet. It will make it worse. Between kids, my extra 10 stayed on but after my second, I did INSANITY by BeachBody. In 2 weeks I lost 6 pounds. But I have to warn you that it is intense and you have to EAT! You will be hungrier as you burn more calories and rev up your matabolism. Just eat healthier and dont "diet". What helps me as a busy mom is having meal replacement shake (not the diet shakes). I suggest either going to a health food store or BeachBody sells some. You need a balance of protien and carbs. They just work great for those mornings that are crazy to make sure I get some sort of breakfast!

With the help of Mummy magic weight loss tea, I managed to shed 35 pounds so far. I used to drink this stuff for three times daily before my meals and in two months I achieved my weight loss goal.

Hey Jody, I know how hard it is when the goal seems SO FAR away... but are you acknowledging your small miles stones to your BIG goal? You need to reward yourself (http://wp.me/pRa1N-6g) or your discouragement will overwhelm you. Hang in there... take care of yourself!

No diets! And it can take a while to shake those last pounds. Reading some of these responses is making me giggle a little. I didn't worry about losing all my baby weight until after 6 months. Just tried to eat as healthy as possible (but enough to keep a steady milk supply), walking is better than running at first, and eat as much raw fruits and veggies as you can get your hands on. Oh and lots of water. And give yourself a break. It took 9 months to put the weight on, why don't you give your body that long to take it off? Especially if it's only the last 10 pounds.

I am breastfeeding and bub is almost 7 months, and I have lost 11kg (24lb). I am 3kg less than I was when I fell preggo, but I was at the high end of the 5kg range I like to be in anyway.

I just wrote down everything I ate. I am eating 2000 calories a day. And go for a walk (sometimes a little jog for 30 seconds here and there) most days. I do eat a little bit of cake and muffins and the bad foods, but I make sure I dont over-indulge in these foods.

For me walking with an ipod has been great.
I was also swimming once a week over summer (southern hemisphere), but not at the moment as the pool closes for winter (that's small towns for ya).

Exercising with a friend helps!!

I have never done a detox, but I have reduced the carbs I eat (less sandwiches for lunch) but I still have rice and pasta for dinner anyway.

It's hard to tell you why these simple things worked for me... but just have good will power to eat well, and drink lots of water, and you should also get feel-good-hormones from the exercising, and be dedicated to your exercise, and maybe change it up a bit, dont always do the same thing. Our bodies respond well and burn more energy if different muscles are used, rather than just the same old muslces used for walking and swimming etc.

Good luck Emily.
Check out www.calorieking.com.au for a web-based food diary!
It really helped me.
I am not sure if there is an American version or not.

have you tried a detox/cleanse? there are alot of different one out there. make sure you check with your doctor. also, all of what you are doing is great for aerobics but add some weights for resistance and watch the pounds melt!

Are you still breastfeeding? Many people don't shake their last 10 pounds until they stop.
Also I started training for half marathons and really upping my mileage and that has helped a bit.

Are you breastfeeding? Some women hang on to the last few pounds for a while when nursing.

Hey Jody,

I know exactly how you feel, I was just 10 pounds from my skinny jeans when my son was about 5 months old and although the breastfeeding was helping, I still had a little excess fat. My husband and I together went on a two week cleanse from Anthony Robbins, it was pricey but if you wanted to do it without all of the expensive stuff, just stick to a strict, no meat, all fresh veggies & fruit & water diet along with the proper vitamins that work for you. For me it was Vitamin B Complex, Ester C, Omega 3, Vitamin D, & Calcium/Magnesium. I also took 3 or 4 squirts of collodial silver to help remove toxins from my body. Within two weeks without even a single workout, I was down 12 pounds! Remember this is just a 2 week cleanse, you will need to get some protein in your body after that, but what it does is help clean out the toxins that have been stored. Good Luck, you'll be in your skinny jeans in no time flat.

sometimes just making time for 'you' is critical, even with weight.  Having breakfast is critical, as is having healthy snacks on hand...  That way you skip any temptation.  By the way - you look great in your picture!  Good luck, i have 5 left i'd like to lose - so, i'm there with you!!! I do know the diet pills are actually somewhat dangerous and not rigorously studied or approved like pharma products...

Good luck!

Hi Jody - give up ALL diets... they never do any good.  Just start listening to your body.  If you are doing all that excersice - you have to be eating properly.  Don't forget to eat when you need to and only what is needed to replenish - not over indulging!  Your body will react negatively whether you are eating too much or too little - it's all about the right balance.  See a real nutritionist if you need to figure out the intake of calories vs the output you are doing.  Be smart!   Also, remember that it all takes time.  Stick with it and you will see results. .  And, never take supplements or buy into the fad stuff!   It's just a waste of $$!
