I know it is weird to ask this question here but my 4 years old daughter is seriously constipated and the doctor said she really needs to have an enema , she refused to have it and always fought , the last time my daughter got was my husband holding her down and me putting it in , what shall I do for this time ?

Why are you allowing (I'm with Dove on this, because I've read the same posts) her to refuse ANYTHING???

She is 4. YOU are the parent. YOU tell her what needs to be done, and she does it! My kid (at that age) TRIED to refuse things, and was immediately shot down. Not only did he NOT get his way, he usually ended up in time out or another appropriate punishment for continued resistance.

Are you familiar with star trek? There's a character/race on there called the Borg: Their motto is "Resistance is futile". Adopt that motto and start to enforce what you need to.

The more she resists (anything) the more traumatic the experience becomes, thus causing the next experience to be worse. Stop that child in her tracks now.

Maybe after you do the enema you can talk to your doctor about putting her on a daily dose of miralax to help keep her from becoming constipated.

I think you should get your husband to pin her down and you insert it very quickly , my girl was also like your child and I always get my husband to hold her down :)
