My husband and I are care givers for our 6.5 year old son.. He has ADHD, If anyone
wants to compare notes, let me know. We have learned a a lot, which means we
have learned 10% of what we should know, I guess...C.T

My son is 5 1/2 and also has ADHD.

We have learnt that certain foods can send him over the edge so we have some control over him through diet. He also now knows what he can and can't eat and is confident in communicating this to others.

Drawing is one thing that I use to calm him down or he uses if he feels himself getting worked up. That and quiet time in his room.

Thankfully school has done wonders for him and although we have had issues with his focus and concentration his teacher is on the ball. She read all his notes before he started and talked to us about how she was handling him in the classroom. I'm really impressed with her, especially as this is her first teaching post out of uni.
