Bathroom problems

Hi, I just joined today and was hoping I could get some help. My daughter will be 8 this month and STILL has a problem making it to the bathroom on time. She gets too involved in what she is doing, she wont take the 5 minutes away from what she is doing to go to the bathroom when she has the urge to go. She waits till she cant hold it anymore and finally decides to go. But, on the way, she ends up wetting her pants. This happens when we are at home, or out shopping or running errands. She never has a problem at school though. I have tried taking things away from her, talking to her, time outs, grounding, having her help with her wet clothes by taking them to the laundry room. Her dr. has ruled out anything medically wrong with her. She knows fully well that she has to go but she waits till its too late. I just don't know what else to do. I was hoping someone here has gone through this or is going through it now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to mention that she isn't the least bit embarrassed that she does it either. Accidents are one thing but these are not accidents, she knows exactly what she is doing. I would love any advice!

Thank you very much,

My daughter was exactly the same it took sometime and a lot of patience as well as a lot of reminders to go to the loo but we finally got there. Make her use the loo before you leave home even if she says she doesn't need to go and when she is playing make her stop and go to the loo every hour. Punishment didn't work for us but star charts and rewards did help a bit x
