Careless attitude

I have a 7 Yr old son, he was initially very bright and used to score good marks, but now he has developed a habit he simply denies to write down the answers despite of the teacher asking him to do so that too during an exam. He knows all the answers but still does not write, he is lost in his own thoughts probably remembering his fav cartoon characters. he has no fear for his tests and exams how do make him see sense? He does not have much friends and prefers to play indoor games all by himself. His classmates does want to include him in their games but he himself plays for alittle while and then keeps himself aloof keeps talking to himself rather keeps reciting his Carton Character's dialogues.

My son started showing developmental as well as social problems around the same age. I really suggest having him evaluated by his pediatrician. It's the reciting and reclusive behavior that i would be concerned about most. I don't think your son has a careless attitude, I think he may need a little help along. My son has ADHD, alot of people would call him "bad" "weird" and tell me that he needed more discipline. Ive always made sure he knew that hes not a bad kid, he just needs a little extra help and thats o.k. He has been provided with many tools to keep himself in check when required and has never been medicated. He is now a freshman in high school and still manages to maintain appropriate behavior which is quite a feat for a child who is truly hyperactive and not just ill-mannered. Good luck to you, i know its rough.
