My daughter is ADHD and while they helped by filling out assessment paperwork, that where it stopped. The schools are over crowded and under funded, leaving kids that need a little more patience and assistance out in the cold. The teachers can't take the individual kids in to consideration, because there are simply too many. They have also started teaching to the test, art, music, and p.e. have been removed. The creativity has been stripped all around. As to your child's issue which is serious, look into your local "children with disabilities act" the school has to provide you with a copy. It's a federal program "No child left behind/Title 1" in the language there are provisions based on age where the schools are obligated to meet with you and come up with an action plan to meet the special needs of your child. I hope this helps you, best wishes.
