I have not had to deal with this yet but I have heard from a few people who have experienced lice that coating the hair in conditioner and wrapping it overnight works.  Just wash out in the morning.  Another friend dyed her daughters hair as that is supposed to kill them too.

Not sure about the falling out though as with any method, the only way to ensure they are gone is to comb the hair.

Tea Tree Oil is also supposed to work and can keep lice away.  Add 10-20 drops of tea tree oil to an ounce of shampoo and let sit on hair for 10 minutes.  Just told a girlfriend this this morning.

Good Luck

Thanx. I will do that. We purchased a dryer a few weeks back due to our unsettling weather in Queensland! Didn't know if it wanted to rain or not. lol :)

I hvae been told of a Tea Tree Oil solution. You have watered down condition solution in a spray bottle wtih some tea tree oil and lavender oil or I use Old English Rose oil. We have used lice solutions and have a thing called a Nab Comb. It is supposed to work to. We will see. I don't think my hubby will agree to dyeing my daughter's hair. She had dark blonde hair. He doesn't want her ears pierced as yet either. He wants her to wait till she is older. She is 7. I do put a DVD or video on for her to keep her occupied. She will eventually complain that her back is sore or aching. I have also tried the condition and comb through and sorting the hair. We will get through this problem.

We had about 4 months of on and off problems last year! My daughter doesn't keep totally clean hair! I am not one to wash it every day. Someone at school must get them. They usually send the child home from school if they are detected. Thanx for the help and info.

Hi, I have been told they can't live in pillows and bedding as they need human hair to live in. Thanx for the help.

I have used the K.P.24 natural headlice lotion. massage in hair and scalp, leave in hair for 10 to 30 minutes then rince. After this I used the K.P.24 lice egg remover. Massage in hair and scalp and leave on for 10 minutes. rince hair and remove nits with the comb. combs very easely! My daughter kept playing during the waiting time and the combing was fast done. I defently will use it again.

I have dealt with this many times. I hope you have a school that will allow the parents to be alerted to the fact someone in their kids class has lice. If not it will bring you to tears after having to treat their the whole family and the house over 3 times. The only thing that worked for us is using  RID or a similar brand of lice shampoo on everybody and maticulously go through their hair getting out every knit and bug. I separated my daughters hair into 4 sections then went through each section a few hairs at a time. Takes forever but it works. If your sons or husband will allow their heads to be shaved do it.  Do not forget or decide not to treat a second time. There are always eggs you miss. Clean your house well and bag up stuffed animals. Spray down your car with the spray also. Hope it's not as bad as our case was.
