With all the hand cleaner my 4 year old uses in school, she now has very dry skin on her hands. Any ideas on how to help it heal?

Gold bond makes a cream with sanitizer in it you can get at the grocery store. My 4 year old was having the same problem. School has been over encouraging kids to wash their hands at because of the H1N1. I realize it is important, but I'm afraid the next generation is going to grow up obsessive germaphobes! Before I found that I was using bath and body works cream with almond oil and similar ingrediants in it. In the morning I would apply it, when he got home at night and again at bed time. It took about a week of that to clear up his very dry hands - they were red and burnt looking they had gotten so chapped and dry.

Lotion her hands good everyday. Especially after her bath, If you do it within 3 minutes of getting her out of the bath, it will retain a lot of the moisture, That is what my doctor told me.

I'm crazy about skin solution from ibody science - it's all natural and if you search the reviews on Youtube you'll see that it works for so many people when NOTHING else does. You can buy a bottle of it or towelettes for her to throw in her backpack. ALSO find ibody science on Facebook - there is a sale going on for May!

Well, I know this may be a couple months too late but Aveeno lotion is really good for dry skin.  It is a little more expensive than other lotions but I think it is worth it.  You could try using it before and after school and before bed.  I hope this helps.

I sell a line called BeautiiControl that has something called Extreme Hand Repair. My 9 year old is "addicted" to antibacterial gel and it's the only thing that has ever worked for her - part of why I started to sell it.

They have 1 oz bottles for $4.50 (that'd last about 1 1/2 months) and 3 oz bottles for $13.00 that would last significantly longer.

Try corn huskers lotion. my hands are always try this time of year. No matter what cleaner i use it dries my hands out unless i wear gloves. I have been using corn huskers lotion since I was 16 and was a cashier. I am now 29 and it still works. Good luck

there are hand cleaners that are lotions instead of gels or alcohol. i used to buy mine at bath and body works. idk if they still sell them but there are other stores that do. :)
