I have accidently hurt my kids, and yes, you do feel awful... it will heal, and he will most likely forget it. You gotta forgive yourself, like you said, it was an accident. I'm sure he and his friends will do far worse in the years to come... hope nothing serious, but kids are accident prone and not always very careful. At least you care enough to feel bad... cut yourself some slack dear!

A week ago my son and I were doing the same thing! Tickling on the bed only he turned fast and cracked his face off his dad's nightstand! Nice big black eye! I felt terrible, until he looked in the mirror and said "Cool! My friends at school will think I'm tough!" 7 yr old boys love black eyes! lol

My oldest son was 2 yrs. old. We were at Walmart and it was my 1st time shopping alone with him and his little brother. So I put him in the back of the cart. My 2nd son managed to get ahold of my wallet. Well it only took a few minutes before I had noticed he dropped it somewhere. I was frantic because we had just got our taxes cashed and I had a good bit in my wallet. While I was looking for it, my oldest decided to stand up and reach for a toy on the shelf. I grabbed the cart at that same second to turn them around and out he went. Right onto the floor. He cried a little and was done. So I figured he was ok and we went about our day. It wasn't until the next day that I noticed he wasn't using it much. I had my mom check it out and she said it was swollen. Of course I took him to the doctor and it was broken. The doctors weren't as friendly as the above poster. They almost started blaming me at first. Asking me over and over how he fell, and why I didn't take him in sooner. I felt horrible. Thankfully the doctor that put the cast on was much more reassuring that these things happen and it wasn't my fault. That really made me feel horrible.

I was at the playground with my kids. My daughter, who was then 4 was running around a little too crazy so I called her over to me. When she turned around, she tripped and cut her forehead open so bad that I had to take an ambulance to the hospital for stitches. If I just left her alone instead of being an overly nervous mommy, she probably would have been okay! Try not to feel too badly, kids get hurt CONSTANTLY.

I defidently have one that should make you feel better. When my oldest son was around 6 or 7 we were all playing on the bed. I as messing around and I pushed him and he fell off the bed. He landed straight down on his left arm and it looked a little different so we went to the ER. They took x-rays and didn't find anything except a tiny blip. They sent him to an orthopedic surgeon. He looked at the film and decided to put a cast on him all the way to his armpit. 4 weeks later we took im back for more x-rays and this time it actually showed the damage. From his elbow up the bone it broke in 16 different places. It looked like a tree had grown in his arm. He recovered completely and has no problems with it. I felt horriable about it, but even all the doctors and nurses laughed about it. A year later almost to the day he broke his other arm at a friends house. We didn't know for 2 days because he didn't complain and it wasn't bruised or anything. My girlfriend felt so bad that she didn't call me to tell me he had fallin. I was never upset because I knew she would never intentionally ignore something lke this.

Oh yeah here is another one. I was sitting down watching some t.v. with all my kids. I got up to go across the room to get drinks and I heard a loud cash. I turned around and the t.v. was on top of him. Thank god my roommate was home because it was too heavry for me to get it off of him. He had to get 23 stitches in his forehead. It split from his nose al the way up his forehead. That was one of the scariest things I have gone though with my kids. No major damage just a scar that he proudly displays for everyone to see.

Needless to say we went and bought a wall mount and a new t.v. to go on it. It sucks when our kids get hurt and it seems like we are the werse parents in the world. Accidents do happen. Don't worry about it too much.
