My 4 year old still wet's the bed every now and then and her mattress smells so bad. I put it outside during the day to dry out but I was wondering if anyone had any tips of things that I could use. I thought about using Tee Tree oil or something but wasn't sure. It would be greatly appreciated if you can help me.

get the zipper plastic mattress cover that is like a bag around the mattress, even if the bed smells like pee you can't smell it through the plastic and chances are the mattress itself isn't bad just had one to many accidents on it. clean it as well as you can then get the plastic zipper cover! (otherwise you are just wasting your money on a new mattress because chances are your child will have more accidents!

Thank you, I would have had a mattress cover but she hasn't done it in a while and it is a new mattress cause we have recently moved so I didn't even think about it, but when I do get rid of the smell I will be putting one on trust me.

I scrub it with water and vineger with a big brush.  Then after it dries I spray febreeze.  I love those waterproof mattress covers.  They are cheap too.

Try Febreeze and if that doesn't work, get rid of the mattress and start over. After you get rid of the smell, get a vinyl cover from Walmart that you can put under the mattress pad to prevent the mattress from getting wet.
